What you'll do

About GLO Marine GLO Marine is an engineering and project delivery company serving the marine, offshore and energy industries. We hold every core engineering discipline in-house and take responsibility for making the engineering, equipment and installation work together — from concept through Class approval, integration and commissioning. One contract, one project manager, delivered in more than 25 countries. About the role We are looking for a Vice President of Sales with an established industry network, strong commercial leadership experience and a practical understanding of vessel retrofit, modification and upgrade projects. Reporting to the CEO and joining the senior leadership team, you will own order intake, margin, pipeline and forecasting across both markets. You will develop relationships with shipowners, ship managers and operators across cargo, cruise and specialised vessels, alongside offshore operators, support-vessel owners, offshore unit owners and their contractors. The role is based in Europe and involves substantial international travel, typically 40–50% of working time. Key responsibilities

  • Own annual order intake, margin targets and sales forecasts across the maritime and offshore energy markets.
  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline, with consistent opportunity assessment and reliable quarterly forecasting.
  • Define opportunity positioning, pricing strategies and negotiation approaches within agreed commercial authority.
  • Lead negotiations on significant contracts through to signature.
  • Develop relationships with technical managers, fleet directors, superintendents, drydock and project managers, and procurement teams.
  • Secure inclusion on approved vendor lists, qualified bidder lists and tender invitations.
  • Convert individual project wins into repeat business, framework agreements and fleet-wide opportunities.
  • Qualify enquiries against scope clarity, technical feasibility, vessel availability, yard and Class requirements, and margin potential.
  • Work with estimating and operations to validate scope, pricing and delivery schedules before commitment.
  • Anticipate scope changes and structure offers to manage variations commercially.
  • Build and develop the sales team, establishing territory coverage, CRM discipline, pipeline reviews and forecasting processes.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development, and ensure clear project handovers to Operations.
  • Represent GLO Marine at industry events, client offices, shipyards and vessels.

What we’re looking for

  • An established, active network among vessel owners, managers and operators in maritime services, offshore energy or both, particularly at the level where retrofit and drydock decisions are made.
  • A proven track record of winning significant contracts in maritime, offshore energy or a related heavy-industrial sector.
  • Ideally 10–15 years of commercial experience, including at least five years in a senior sales or commercial role.
  • Strong understanding of vessel maintenance, retrofit, modification, conversion and upgrade scopes.
  • Experience selling or delivering EPC-type vessel modifications, combining engineering, procurement and installation with accountability for the overall result.
  • Familiarity with Class and flag requirements, drydock cycles, shipyard interfaces, vessel systems and the drivers behind retrofit demand.
  • Experience negotiating lump-sum, reimbursable, EPC and framework contracts, including commercial terms, risk and variations.
  • Experience leading a sales team, or demonstrable readiness to build and develop one.
  • A disciplined approach to opportunity qualification, pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for approximately 40–50% of working time.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, including the ability to lead contract negotiations.

Highly desirable

  • A technical or engineering background in marine, naval, mechanical or electrical disciplines.
  • Seagoing or superintendent experience, or experience within an owner’s or ship manager’s technical department.
  • Established relationships with shipyards, classification societies and major equipment manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with decarbonisation and compliance-driven retrofits, including BWTS, scrubbers, shore power, energy efficiency and alternative fuels.
  • Experience with offshore unit life extension, conversions or FPSO-related modifications.
  • An additional language relevant to GLO Marine’s international markets.

The profile We’re looking for a sales leader who brings strong client relationships and can hold credible technical and commercial conversations about vessel upgrades. You should be comfortable taking ownership of revenue targets, developing a team and working closely with estimating and operations. Sound judgement is essential: qualifying opportunities carefully, negotiating clear terms and ensuring that commitments are supported by realistic scope, pricing and delivery schedules. You will combine an active market presence with structured sales management and build relationships that extend beyond individual projects. What we offer

  • A senior leadership role reporting directly to the CEO.
  • Responsibility for sales growth across international maritime and offshore energy markets.
  • The opportunity to shape and develop GLO Marine’s sales function.
  • Close collaboration with engineering, estimating and operations teams on complex vessel upgrade projects.
  • The opportunity to develop long-term client relationships, framework agreements and fleet-wide programmes.
