What you'll do

Omega Subsea is looking for a Training & Competence Coordinator with a strong ROV or subsea background to join our Training & Competence team. In this role, you will work closely with offshore personnel, assessors, and internal teams to keep competence activities on track, maintain accurate records, and support the development of our competence management system. You will also help identify training needs and follow up personnel through competence progression, annual appraisals, and 1:1 reviews. Key responsibilities - Maintain competence records, awards, evidence, and progression status across the offshore workforce. - Monitor competence completion and follow up personnel and assessors where activities or actions are outstanding. - Coordinate annual appraisals and 1:1 follow-up meetings, including recording and tracking agreed actions. - Support personnel, assessors, and verifiers with competence management system queries. - Produce competence reports and dashboards, and use data to identify training needs and recurring competence gaps. - Support the development and revision of competence awards, workbooks, assessment documentation, and guidance. - Ensure competence records are accurate, traceable, and ready for internal reviews, client requirements, and audits. - Follow up and escalate significant competence gaps or overdue activities when required. Qualifications - Relevant technical education within ROV, subsea, electrical, mechanical, or a related discipline. - Strong ROV or subsea background, and a good understanding of offshore operations and IMCA competence requirements. - Experience from the subsea industry. Extensive offshore experience is not essential. - Competence or assessor qualifications are advantageous. - Good general IT skills, and experience with competence management systems, Microsoft Office, and Excel. - Comfortable learning and working with new digital systems. - Fluent written and spoken English; Norwegian is advantageous but not essential. Personal qualities - Organised, structured, and detail-oriented. - Proactive and comfortable taking ownership. - Approachable and confident when communicating with offshore personnel, assessors, and management. - Clear and effective communicator. - Able to work independently and as part of a team. - Comfortable working in an international and fast-paced environment.
