With AI, we have a major opportunity to improve how knowledge is created, maintained and used - but it requires clear processes, good content ownership and AI-ready content.” - Inka Vilpola, VP, IT Strategy and Governance What you will do We are looking for a curious, analytical and responsible Master’s thesis worker to help improve UPM IT’s knowledge base process and content management practices with the support of AI. Your main tasks are:

• Analyse the current knowledge base process, content lifecycle and content management practices in UPM IT
• Review selected knowledge articles, resolution notes and knowledge repositories to identify improvement opportunities related to quality, structure, metadata, ownership, findability and AI readiness
• Explore how AI can support knowledge creation, content review, metadata enrichment, duplicate detection, content quality evaluation and lifecycle management
• Define practical principles for AI-ready knowledge base content, including clarity, structure, context, ownership, review cycles and retrievability
• Propose an improved operating model for knowledge base process and content management, including roles, responsibilities, governance and continuous improvement practices
• Test or demonstrate selected AI-supported approaches for improving knowledge content and user experience
• Propose roadmap and method for scaling up knowledge coverage
• Identifying potential knowledge gaps
• Gather feedback from relevant stakeholders such as service owners, knowledge managers, process owners, service desk representatives and end users

Work with the Strategy and Governance, and the Operational Excellence teams and support ITSM-related knowledge management development activities - Who you are

• You are positive, curious and proactive, with an interest in AI, knowledge management and service improvement
• You are university student close to graduation in information and knowledge management, computer science, industrial engineering, business technology, service management or a similar field
• You have good understanding of IT services, IT service management or process development
• You are interested in how AI can improve information quality, user experience and operational efficiency
• You are able to analyse information, structure findings and turn them into practical improvement proposals
• You are comfortable working with different stakeholders and collecting feedback through interviews, workshops or surveys
• You have advanced English skills, both written and spoken

You have experience with ServiceNow, knowledge bases, content management, data analytics, process modelling or AI tools is considered an advantage - This is what we offer to you
