Thesis assignment for 2027

We are looking for you, student member of Suomen Ekonomit Suomen Ekonomit is searching for three thesis writers. Our goal is to gather additional information on topics that are central for the activities and functions of Ekonomit and phenomena in working life. The research themes and perspectives will be further refined during the application and interviewing process in collaboration between Ekonomit and the selected applicants. Ekonomit have already outlined four general topic areas for you to choose from: - Marketing, emotions, and engagement with a professional association (Case: Suomen Ekonomit) – what kind of emotions do marketing and communications evoke, and how are they linked to interest and engagement? - Motivations for and psychological barriers to moving abroad for work among recent graduates or early-career holders of a Master’s degree in Economics & Business Administration (the perspective may cover both barriers and motivations or focus on just one of them) - The perceived importance / value added of the career services and other services of Suomen Ekonomit in supporting the employment of newly graduated or early-career holders with a Master’s degree in Economics & Business Administration. You can also examine the perceived significance or added value of services from the perspective of career transitions among the members of Ekonomit in general. - The perceived significance of artificial intelligence for the existence / decreasing of so-called entry-level jobs especially for Masters of Science (Economics & Business Administration) OR you can propose your own topic, which you consider to be of particular benefit to Suomen Ekonomit in the near future, considering the field of activity of Suomen Ekonomit and issues relevant to people with a university degree in Economics & Business Administration. What do we expect from you? We hope that you have done well in your business studies and that you are highly motivated to produce a high quality thesis as an assignment. We also expect you to have a basic understanding of research methods and their applicability to different situations. It would be somewhat beneficial if you are already familiar with the activities of Suomen Ekonomit (services, events, association activities, etc.). The deadline for completing the project is at the end of October 2027, and the starting date will be agreed upon separately. The thesis can be written in Finnish, Swedish or English. What shall we offer you? During the assignment, we aim for close communication and collaboration, including with an official supervisor from the university. Juha Oksanen, the research manager of Ekonomit, will oversee the progress of the work, assisted by a colleague related to the topic area (substance) if needed and a person responsible for Ekonomit´s marketing & communications. Otherwise, the way of working will be quite flexible in terms of location and timing. The persons that become selected will be paid a fee in accordance with Ekonomit´s own recommendations (the recommendation for 2026 is 6,500 euros, the recommendation for 2027 will be published in December 2026).
