Test Engineer

A Snapshot of Your Day This Specialist Professional role is a critical replacement to ensure business continuity within the Power and Grid Management team. The position is essential for maintaining agreed-upon delivery schedules and upholding the quality standards for our power plant control systems. To achieve these objectives, the role focuses on three core areas: advanced test strategy and planning, comprehensive test execution and automation, and rigorous defect management and analysis. These activities ensure that our digital products and solutions for the energy sector are robust, reliable, and meet all technical specifications before deployment. Given the focus on complex system verification, the ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert with extensive experience in verification engineering. This includes proven proficiency in test automation, scripting languages, and a deep understanding of the engineering design process, coupled with the ability to manage large projects and mentor junior professionals. How You’ll Make an Impact

• Analyze complex technical requirements and system designs for power and grid management solutions to define comprehensive verification strategies.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust test plans, test cases, and test procedures for new and existing product features.
• Act as a subject matter expert, managing large-scale test projects and processes with limited oversight.
• Coach, review, and delegate test development work to lower-level professionals, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Execute advanced manual and automated tests to validate functional requirements, benchmark system performance, and ensure product reliability.
• Develop, implement, and maintain sophisticated test automation frameworks and scripts using Python, Tcl, or other relevant languages.
• Establish and manage complex test environments, including system simulations and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setups.
• Integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline to enhance development workflow efficiency and feedback cycles.
• Identify, document, and meticulously track software defects and system anomalies through to resolution using workflow management tools.
• Conduct in-depth root cause analysis for difficult and complex problems, collaborating with development teams to find effective solutions.
• Generate detailed test summary reports and quality metrics to communicate findings and system readiness to stakeholders.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Extensive experience, around 10 years, as a subject matter expert in verification engineering, software testing, or a similar role.
• Proven experience managing complex test projects or processes and mentoring other professionals.
• Demonstrated expertise in test automation, scripting, and testing complex software and hardware systems.
• Technical expertise in test automation, Python programming, scripting, Linux environments, simulations, and firmware development to support the design, testing, automation, and optimization of reliable and high‑quality technology solutions.
• Ability to apply Generative AI tools to improve test design, accelerate test procedure creation, enhance automation development, and increase overall testing efficiency and coverage.
• Expertise in quality and process management, including test planning, quality assurance, engineering design processes, and workflow management to ensure efficient execution, high‑quality deliverables, and continuous improvement across engineering and development activities.
• Strong behavioral abilities, including troubleshooting and problem‑solving, analytical thinking, and influencing skills to support effective decision‑making, stakeholder engagement, and the successful resolution of complex challenges.
