We are looking for a Test & Development Engineer to join a team focused on the development and verification of active safety systems and automated vehicle technologies.
In this role, you will work with cutting-edge automotive systems, supporting both function development and vehicle verification projects for external customers. You'll be involved in preparing and executing vehicle tests, analyzing results, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating closely with developers and function owners to improve the performance and quality of advanced driver assistance and autonomous driving systems.
The position is primarily based in Gothenburg, with time spent at test facilities, proving grounds, and public road testing environments.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and execute vehicle testing activities for active safety and automated driving systems.
- Perform functional verification and validation of vehicle systems in real-world and controlled testing environments.
- Conduct testing on test tracks, proving grounds, and public roads.
- Analyze test results and identify deviations, performance issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collect, process, and evaluate vehicle data, logs, and measurement results.
- Support troubleshooting and root-cause investigations together with developers and function owners.
- Develop and maintain test documentation, test reports, and verification deliverables.
- Contribute to the continuous development and validation of active safety functions and automated vehicle systems.
- Support customer projects by delivering high-quality testing and validation activities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure requirements are verified and system behavior is properly evaluated.
- Assist in improving testing methodologies, processes, and tools.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Experience working with vehicle testing, validation, verification, or automotive system development.
- Hands-on experience with Vector tools, including CANalyzer.
- Experience working with automotive diagnostics and vehicle logging tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Comfortable working both in office environments and hands-on vehicle testing scenarios.
- Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
- Valid Swedish Category B driving license with strong driving experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience programming in Python, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages.
- Experience within active safety systems, ADAS, or automated driving technologies.
- Experience writing test cases and validation procedures for vehicle testing.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 and functional safety processes.
- Experience working with SE-Tool.
- Test track driving certification (T1/T2 or equivalent).
- Category C or CE driving license.
- Experience working with vehicle development, system integration, or validation engineering.
