Join us and take your career to the next level As a Technical Project Engineer, you'll be responsible for leading assigned design engineering projects and R&D activities—including work on New Product Development (NPD) initiatives—within the Counterbalanced division at Kalmar. Your contributions will help transform customer needs, legislation, and internal requirements into innovative, safe, and sustainable product solutions in line with our global business strategies. In this role you will report to the Head of process, support and testing and the location is Ljungby, Sweden. What are your key responsibilities: - Project Delivery & Coordination: Direct, coordinate, and deliver design engineering projects within the division, making detailed plans to accomplish project goals and integrating technical activities. - Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with key internal stakeholders to discuss design engineering specifications, procedures, and cross-functional technical alignment across CB products. - Feasibility & Workflow Analysis: Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to assess design feasibility and help implement standard policies, processes, and procedures for the department. - Design Execution & Compliance: Ensure the planning and execution of design activities meet specified customer demands, product safety, legislative requirements, agreed costs, and project delivery schedules. - Testing & Verification: In consultation with Principal Systems Engineers (PSE), initiate and order testing for verification and evaluation of product designs. - Reporting & Alignment: Regularly report progress, outcomes, and potential deviations to the Head of Process, Support & Testing and the Project Manager. What you bring to the role: - Qualifications: University degree corresponding to engineering or related field, or similar comprehensive expertise gained through practical experience. - Project Management & R&D Experience: Experience in project management and product development activities, supported by solid technical knowledge of non-road mobile equipment or similar rubber-tire vehicles. - Engineering Tools: Experience with engineering design tools used by Kalmar and familiarity with similar engineering tasks are highly qualifying. - Planning & Leadership Capabilities: High-level planning skills, strong leadership capabilities, basic commercial knowledge, and the ability to motivate, inspire, and build trust across teams. - Customer Focus: A business- and market-oriented mindset with a clear, persistent focus on understanding and fulfilling customer needs. - Communication & Languages: Professional working proficiency in spoken and written Swedish and English, with strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across R&D functions.
