Technical Product Manager

Purpose of the Job The Technical Product Manager is responsible for translating business and regulatory needs into clear, technically feasible product priorities and backlog items, ensuring effective delivery together with, and through, the development teams. The role secures high-quality technical product ownership, strong backlog governance, and alignment between business objectives, architecture, and delivery execution. Responsibilities of the Job - Own and manage the technical product backlog for one or more development teams, ensuring backlog clarity, quality and readiness.

• Break down requirements into technically feasible backlog items with clear acceptance criteria.
• Balance new development, technical health, risk remediation, and unplanned work (e.g. incidents, defects).
• Prioritize backlog items based on business value, technical risk, regulatory requirements and delivery capacity.
• Contribute actively to sprint planning and ensure priorities are clearly communicated to development teams.
• Track progress, scope and dependencies throughout the delivery cycle.
• Work closely with Architects, Chapter Managers, Delivery Leads, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and business intent.
• Act as the key technical product counterpart in delivery forums and governance settings.
• Support cross-team and cross-domain alignment where dependencies exist.
• Safeguard technical health, quality and long-term maintainability of delivery solutions.
• Ensure compliance, risk, and architectural requirements are embedded in early product development.
• Act as escalation point for backlog, scope, or prioritization conflicts related to the technical product.
• Represent and continuously refine ways of working for the technical product ownership and technical product management.
• Contribute to improved delivery models, team structures, and product governance practices.

Education Level Bachelor's Degree Experience/Demonstrated Competencies - Previous experience working as Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in a technology-driven environment.

• Demonstrated experience in backlog ownership and prioritisation.
• Experience working closely with development teams in an agile setting.
• Experience within financial services or regulated environments is an advantage.

Language Competencies - Fluency in English.

• Swedish or other Nordic languages are an advantage.

Knowledge required - Understanding of software development lifecycles and technical solution design.

• Knowledge of agile/and or scaled agile delivery frameworks.
• Can demonstrate knowledge about backlog management, prioritization techniques, and refinement practices.
• Understanding of regulatory, risk, and compliance considerations within banking.
• Proven knowledge around technical debt, quality metrics, and system lifecycle management.
