Tech Lead – Infrastucture

Can you own the platform and pipelines that EIVA’s software is built on? EIVA is an equipment and software engineering company delivering solutions to the international maritime industry. Our customers operate within renewable energy, oil & gas exploration, seabed-to-surface construction and hydrographic surveying – often in demanding environments where timing, precision and safety margins matter. You do not need to know the subsea domain to apply. Here, your product is the software itself, and your users are the other engineering teams who build and ship on the platform you own. What matters is curiosity – the ability to ask the right questions and translate what you hear into good technical decisions – and a collaborative, team-first mindset. The position is based at EIVA’s Danish office in Stilling (just one minute from the E45, approximately 15 minutes from Aarhus by car and easily accessible by bus). What's involved? As Tech Lead – Infrastructure, you'll own the platform, pipelines and infrastructure that our NaviSuite software is built on. Around 80% of the role is hands-on: working directly in the team's technical domains – platform, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, environments and tooling. The rest is technical leadership – owning architecture within the Infrastructure team, making the final call on anything inside the team's decision domain, and knowing when a question needs to go further, to our architects or to alignment with other teams. You'll also help keep that decision domain itself well defined: what the team can decide on its own, and where it needs external alignment. There could be occasional travel – around one to two short trips a year. Your responsibilities…

• Doing hands-on development and engineering work across the team's core technical domains – platform, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, environments and internal tooling (around 80% of the role)
• Making the final technical decisions within the team's decision domain, and helping define where that domain's boundaries sit versus where the team needs external alignment
• Securing technical quality in the team – code and infrastructure-as-code review, best practices, testing and automation standards
• Owning architecture in the team – ensuring platform and pipeline work aligns with EIVA's overall architecture, and explaining the interdependencies to the team
• Participating in refinement, securing that features, stories and tasks describe architectural dependencies, feasibility, quality requirements and operational aspects such as reliability, security, cost and developer experience
• Cross team alignment – representing the Infrastructure team's technical position and making sure its work fits with adjacent work elsewhere in the organisation
• Driving clarification with architects on technical questions that sit outside the team's decision domain

• Providing technical mentoring and sparring for the team's engineers
• Supporting the other development teams as users of the platform – helping with adoption, guidance and acting on their feedback
• Taking operational responsibility for the platform and pipelines
• Keeping the team's technical practices current – seeking out training, evaluating new tooling and sharing that knowledge internally
• Maintaining technical documentation for the platform, pipelines and environments
• Giving technical input to hiring and onboarding new engineers on the team
• Giving technical input to estimation and planning together with the Team Manager/Product Owner

The ideal candidate…

• Has a background in software engineering or computer science
• Has hands-on experience building and maintaining platforms, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and internal tooling
• Has experience managing complex DevOps systems and workflows, and is comfortable making final technical calls within a defined decision domain
• Is familiar with tools such as Git/GitHub, artifact storage, Ansible and Terraform
• Has a collaborative mindset – comfortable gathering feedback from stakeholders across teams and using it to design clean, well-reasoned solutions
• Is a team player who's good at knowledge-sharing and educating peers, and takes proactive ownership of their domain
• It's a bonus if you also have experience with licence management systems, but not a requirement.
