System Verification Engineer

The role We are looking for a System Verification Engineer to join our team and support vehicle verification, software download activities, and electrical system implementation within advanced commercial vehicle programs. In this role, you will support test vehicles and rigs throughout the physical build process, working with software downloads, ECU programming, fault tracing, and troubleshooting of complex electrical and electronic systems. You will play a key role in supporting vehicle fleets, early-phase engineering activities, and the validation of vehicle electrical architectures. Responsibilities

• Support vehicle fleets with software downloads, fault tracing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Perform software downloading, programming, and parameter configuration of ECUs.
• Support early-phase electrical and electronic engineering activities.
• Troubleshoot complex issues in vehicle, laboratory, and rig environments.
• Support test vehicles and rigs throughout the physical build process.
• Work hands-on with vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
• Contribute to the verification and implementation of vehicle electrical architectures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project deliveries and issue resolution.
• Provide technical support across various Volvo facilities, workshops, and development environments.
• Support continuous improvements in vehicle verification and software deployment processes.

Background / Experience

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience within automotive electrical and electronic systems.
• Experience working with software download, ECU programming, and vehicle diagnostics.
• Strong understanding of vehicle electrical architecture and E/E systems.
• Experience with fault tracing and troubleshooting of complex vehicle-related issues.
• Knowledge of vehicle testing, verification, and implementation activities.
• Understanding of complete vehicle systems, preferably within commercial vehicles or truck platforms.
• Experience working hands-on with vehicles, rigs, or laboratory environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks.
• Customer-focused and service-oriented mindset.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Meritorious

• Experience from automotive product development environments.
• Knowledge of CANalyzer.
• Experience with tools such as Kola, Protus, PROTOM, Configurator, SE-Tool, and ClearQuest.
• Experience working with complete truck systems and vehicle verification activities.
• Experience supporting test fleets, prototype vehicles, or development rigs.
