Student Assistant, Legal & Claims

What you will be doing We are looking for a motivated Student Assistant to join our Legal & Claims team in Gentofte. You will work closely with Jens Erik and Eirik and support them on a broad range of legal and claims-related matters across our global business. The role is broad combining practical support with legal analysis and research, and your tasks will vary depending on what is happening in the business. Some assignments will be routine and process-oriented, while others will give you the opportunity to dive into legal questions, contracts and claims matters. We will make sure you get insight into different parts of the Legal & Claims function, while also contributing to the practical work that keeps things moving. Among other interesting tasks, you will be:

• Assisting with legal research within shipping and maritime law and related areas
• Drafting and reviewing clauses, contracts and other legal documents
• Supporting claims handling and helping with smaller legal matters and disputes
• Helping us build structure and overview around external lawyers, arbitrators and recurring claims processes
• Supporting practical processes such as maritime insurance invoices and documentation
• Preparing presentations, internal updates and legal knowledge-sharing material
• Participating in meetings with external lawyers and advisors
• Supporting ad hoc matters within areas such as corporate law, M&A and commercial contracts

We offer a flexible working week of 2-3 days, with more hours required during holiday periods and fewer hours during your exam periods. What we would love about you We are looking for a law student in the final year of their bachelor’s degree who is curious about how legal work comes to life in a global shipping company. You will probably enjoy this role if you like an environment where many things are happening at once and priorities can change. You are structured, detail-oriented and comfortable following tasks through, whether you are helping with practical coordination or diving into legal research. You do not need to know all ins and outs of maritime law from day one. We will introduce you properly to the tasks, the team and the business. What matters most is that you are eager to learn, take responsibility and want to develop. Previous experience from a law firm, a legal department or a related business area is an advantage, especially if it has given you exposure to transport, shipping, claims or commercial legal work. We are looking for someone who:

• Is currently in the final year of their bachelor’s degree in law
• Has strong academic results and can attach an updated grade transcript
• Is curious about shipping, maritime law, claims and broader legal work
• Structured, detail-oriented, and able to initiate and finish tasks independently
• Is eager to learn and develop
• Appreciate working in a multicultural environment
• Communicates confidently in Danish and English
• Hold a residence and work permit allowing you to work in Denmark
