What you'll do

Are you an experienced software developer with a dream of working with cutting-edge technology? Do you want to contribute to missions that shape the future of space exploration? Then this opportunity is for you! We are looking for a dedicated and innovative Software Developer who is eager to create software solutions that make space more accessible, affordable, and useful. Your role: In this role, you’ll work closely with engineers to integrate, configure, and test cutting-edge satellite subsystems. Your expertise will help enhance system testing and software tools, all while playing a vital role in satellite integration. You will join our software team in the Satellite Systems Business Unit, consisting of 12 software engineers divided into two equally sized groups: Payload & Payload Interfacing and Spacecraft Integration. The team works closely with systems, hardware, mechanical and electrical engineers, manufacturing, and project managers to develop, integrate and deliver complete satellite missions. The Payload & Payload Interfacing group is responsible for software supporting customer payloads and the interfaces between payloads and the spacecraft platform. The Spacecraft Integration group focuses on software tools, integration, verification, and system-level testing, ensuring that subsystems and payloads operate together as a complete spacecraft. As part of the Spacecraft Integration group, you will work hands-on with satellite integration, verification, and automated testing. You will collaborate closely with engineers across disciplines to configure, integrate and validate satellite subsystems and complete spacecraft, while developing and maintaining software tools that improve testing efficiency and product quality. This includes close cooperation with the Payload & Payload Interfacing group to ensure seamless integration between payloads and platform systems. You will have the opportunity to contribute throughout the spacecraft development lifecycle, from subsystem integration and verification activities to supporting mission delivery and in-orbit operations, helping ensure that our satellites perform reliably in some of the most demanding environments imaginable. Your task include: - Collaborate with engineers to understand, configure, integrate, and verify satellite subsystems and the entire satellite system. - Create and expand Python-based test cases to enhance satellite testing and system quality. - Improve and maintain software tools that streamline satellite development and testing. - Use tools like Linux, git, Python, pytest, C, Docker, and Jenkins, while participating in code reviews to maintain high software standards. What you bring: At GomSpace, it’s not just your technical skills that matter - your character is also important. We value individuals who bring a positive, proactive attitude, and can build trust across cultures. The ideal candidate will have a software background, a passion for space, a personal drive to get things done, and a desire to work on challenging engineering projects. You likely: - Bring 3+ years of experience in software development using C, C++, and Python - Have a solid understanding of embedded systems, RTOS, and hardware-software integration - Possess hands-on experience with testing critical systems, particularly using Python and automated test frameworks - Be comfortable working with Git, Linux, and modern development tools - Take initiative and ownership of your tasks while contributing effectively as part of a team - Apply a structured and methodical approach to software development and task execution Who you are: - Helpfulness – you support teams, ask purposeful questions and pursue the answers you need - Open communication – you communicate transparently and proactively and follow through - True commitment – you take ownership, act with integrity and drive progress with confidence - Human insight – you listen, understand different perspectives and turn input into clear conclusions Here’s why you’ll love working with us: At GomSpace, we’re on a mission to shape the future of space – one mission at a time. Here, you’ll be part of something bigger than just a project or a product. You’ll help build systems that connect people, enable science and expand humanity’s reach beyond Earth. We believe the best results come when talented people are trusted, supported, and inspired to push boundaries together. - Be part of a global company making a real impact in the space industry - Get freedom under responsibility from day one – and grow with us - Join a dynamic, full-service environment where no two days are alike - Work across borders and build a strong international network - Be part of a culture where collaboration beats competition – and milestones are celebrated together You will become part of the Satellite Systems Business Unit that builds and integrates satellites and missions for our customers. The development and delivery of missions and spacecraft happen in close cooperation between system and software engineers, hardware, mechanical and electrical engineers, manufacturing, and project managers. You will: - Work at the forefront of space technology, contributing to innovative satellite systems - Collaborate with a talented, dynamic team and continuously develop your skills in a fast-paced environment - Gain hands-on experience in both satellite and ground station integration JOIN OUR MISSION You are welcome to send your application in Danish or English.
