Social Media Intern at Barnebys Are you passionate about social media, storytelling and creating engaging visual content? Do you have an interest in art, design, fashion, interiors, jewellery, watches, collectibles or wider culture? Would you like to gain hands on experience working with an international brand? Then you could be the person we’re looking for. We are looking for a creative and culturally curious Social Media Intern to join our marketing team and help develop Barnebys’ presence across social media. The role can be based in either the UK or Sweden. As a Social Media Intern at Barnebys, you will be part of our marketing team and support the planning, creation and day to day management of content across our social channels, primarily Instagram and Facebook, with the opportunity to help develop our presence on TikTok. The role is varied and is ideal for someone who enjoys creating content, spotting trends and finding interesting stories that can be brought to life on social media. Your responsibilities

  • Plan and create engaging social media posts, carousels, Stories and short form video content.
  • Write captions and social copy in the Barnebys tone of voice.
  • Research interesting auction lots, art stories, design trends, cultural moments and news that could inspire social content.
  • Turn Barnebys articles and editorial content into engaging, social first formats.
  • Support the planning and management of the social media content calendar.
  • Source imagery and ensure content is visually consistent with the Barnebys brand.
  • Support the creation of Reels and TikTok content.
  • Keep up to date with social media trends and identify relevant opportunities for Barnebys.
  • Schedule and publish content across Instagram and Facebook.
  • Support community management and audience engagement where needed.
  • Review social media performance and help identify which formats and topics resonate most with our audience.
  • Work closely with the wider marketing, editorial and commercial teams on campaigns and key auction moments.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Has a strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
  • Has a natural eye for engaging and visually appealing social content.
  • Has strong written communication skills and is confident writing social copy.
  • Has a good understanding of current social media trends and content formats.
  • Is organised, detail oriented and comfortable managing different tasks.
  • Is able to work independently and enjoys bringing new ideas to the team.
  • Is confident working in English.
  • Has an interest in art, design, fashion, interiors, jewellery, watches, collectibles or wider culture.

You do not need to be an art expert. We are looking for someone who is curious, creative and excited to learn. It would be an advantage if you

  • Have previous experience in social media, content creation or marketing.
  • Have experience using tools such as Canva, CapCut or similar content creation platforms.
  • Have experience creating short form video content for Instagram Reels or TikTok.
  • Have experience planning or managing a social media content calendar.
  • Have an understanding of social media analytics and performance reporting.

Previous professional experience is not essential. Personal social media accounts, university projects, freelance work or other examples of content creation are all relevant. You enjoy keeping up with social media and culture, have an eye for what makes engaging content and are always looking for interesting stories and ideas. You are comfortable taking responsibility for your work, enjoy collaborating with others and are keen to develop your skills in social media, content creation and digital marketing.
