Service Engineer

We are looking for a Service engineer for our client. Your Role and Responsibilities: As a Service Engineer, based in the Helsinki or Turku area, you will be responsible for commissioning, maintaining and servicing electric propulsion systems for marine applications. You will execute service work according to work instructions and in accordance with standard processes, quality requirements and safety guidelines. You will work closely with customers and internal engineering and service teams, acting as the technical point of contact while ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction. The position involves approximately 150 days of mostly international travel per year, as you will provide practical technical support at customer sites around the world. You will be mainly accountable for: Commissioning and maintaining electric propulsion systems Supervising installations, startup, testing and commissioning in cooperation with customers Performing service and warranty work on operating vessels Installing and commissioning equipment and identifying and analysing technical problems through remote and on-site activities Performing various service tasks, including installation and commissioning, routine maintenance, extensions and equipment replacements Consulting and advising customers on suitable service solutions in accordance with standard processes, procedures and safety guidelines Building and maintaining strong customer relationships and providing specialist technical assistance Diagnosing equipment failures and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurring problems Identifying opportunities to develop new service applications, equipment and working methods Qualifications for the Role: B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering, automation, marine engineering or another relevant field Ability and willingness to perform mechanical service work when required Previous practical experience in commissioning relevant products or systems is an advantage Willingness and ability to travel internationally extensively, up to approximately 150 days per year Experience in shipbuilding, marine systems or industrial equipment is an advantage Experience with electrical propulsion systems is considered an advantage Collaborative and solution-oriented approach Good Finnish and English language skills, as the role involves regular interaction with customers and internal teams Additional language skills are an advantage Good knowledge of MS Office Ability to work independently as well as effectively as part of a team Strong customer service and communication skills More about the company: Our client operates in the marine technology sector and develops advanced electric, automated and digital solutions for vessels and maritime operations.
