Senior Test Automation Engineer

Job Description We are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer for a long-term assignment involving system development and maintenance of custom-built applications and support systems within the public sector. You will work in an environment with multiple parallel system development teams that depend on one another and iteratively deliver shared results. The custom-developed applications are built according to a target architecture and operate within an event-driven, distributed, service-oriented architecture using microservices. The work is carried out using Agile Scrum, and tools such as Jira and Confluence are used for workflows, traceability, and documentation. Assignment Description / Responsibilities In this role, you will:

• Ensure the quality of applications and systems, primarily through automated testing.
• Plan and execute tests, create test cases, link test cases to requirements, report progress, and perform troubleshooting.
• Conduct frontend and GUI testing.
• Manage test environments and create complex test data related to release builds.
• Test third-party integrations, including advanced test chains involving system components across different organizations, both internally and externally.
• Use SQL and databases for test data preparation and testing activities.
• Perform joint testing with other teams and stakeholders.
• Drive, organize, structure, and document testing activities within the team and in coordination with other teams and stakeholders.
• Lead and facilitate workshops within the testing domain.
• Participate in and drive backlog refinement.
• Participate in sprint planning and retrospectives while contributing to structured working methods and team progress.
• Act as a support, mentor, and coach within testing, both for other testers and other system development roles.
• Support the analysis and review of requirements gathering and requirement specifications.
• Assume the role of Scrum Master when required.
• Continuously contribute to knowledge transfer.
• Perform work in related roles when needed, based on your broader competencies and the team's responsibility for delivering results.

Mandatory Requirements The consultant must:

• Have worked with testing and quality assurance of custom-developed applications and systems through functional and non-functional testing, regression testing, and integration testing based on defined acceptance criteria, including traceability to requirements and changes, for at least 10 years within the last 15 years.
• Have worked with test automation for at least 8 years within the last 10 years, with very deep expertise, including development of automation scripts.
• Have extensive knowledge and understanding of test automation, software development, JavaScript, APIs, and similar technologies, and have acted as a requirements owner/specifier for automated test development, such as regression testing.
• Have worked with creating test cases and preparing and using complex test data, including SQL and databases, for at least 10 years within the last 15 years.
• Have worked in the requested role within the Swedish public sector for at least 5 years within the last 10 years, with extensive knowledge of legislation- and regulation-driven environments.
• Have worked in the requested role on assignments involving the development of customer-facing and case-management systems related to public support services or similar for at least 5 years within the last 8 years.
• Have worked in the requested role on assignments involving the development of financial systems for at least 5 years within the last 8 years, such as public loans, grants, subsidies, banking, or finance.
• Have used Jira for test case management and agile workflows within and between teams, with strong expertise in the tool.
• Have worked in the requested role within assignments involving multiple interdependent development teams delivering shared outcomes for at least 5 years within the last 8 years.
• Have used Confluence for documentation and possess strong expertise in the tool.
• Be fluent in spoken and written Swedish.

Preferred Qualifications It is considered an advantage if the consultant:

• Has worked for at least 4 years within the last 7 years in an event-driven microservices platform using:
• Java
• Spring Boot
• OpenShift
• Camunda
• RabbitMQ
• DB2
• Angular
• Has worked with Camunda and Camunda Modeler, with a strong understanding of the process engine.
• Has worked with Camunda Cockpit.
• Has worked with Jenkins.
• Has worked with Mocha.
• Has worked with Git and Bitbucket.
• Has worked with API tools such as Swagger, Bruno, and SoapUI.
• Has worked with Splunk for log monitoring, filtering, and analysis related to testing.
• Has experience testing frontend and web applications.
• Has worked in a similar role within a government agency for at least 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Has worked in a similar role within IT organizations with 100+ employees for at least 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Has worked with Scrum and/or Kanban for at least 5 years within the last 8 years and has a solid understanding of these methodologies.
• Has worked with Scrum at Scale, SAFe, or similar frameworks for at least 5 years within the last 8 years.
• Has experience working as a Test Lead or in an equivalent role.
• Has worked with JSM (Jira Service Management).
• Has worked with IBM Data Studio.
• Has experience with Java code migrated from mainframe systems.
• Has worked with Xray.
