About Electricity Maps Electricity Maps is a VC-backed climate and energy tech start-up building the world's most comprehensive electricity data platform. We provide real-time, historical, and forecasted data on electricity systems worldwide - covering generation mix, electricity prices, carbon intensity, and renewable share. Our data powers decisions across sustainability and energy markets: from companies like Google and Cisco optimising compute workloads and reporting emissions, to energy market participants using our forecasts to inform trading strategies and asset optimisation. We're a small, technical team based in Copenhagen, working at the intersection of energy, AI, climate change, and data. About The Role You'll work in the product team responsible for exposing our data to the world and you will help people and companies consume our data: Via our API, our map or whatever makes sense next. We believe in engineers owning product decisions. Engineers scope the problem, build it and evolve it based on feedback from customers, colleagues and users. Those decisions usually aren't mapped out before you start on them so you're figuring out the shape of the problem and the best solution as you unpack it. You'll be part of a small engineering team with 3 other full-stack engineers. No two days look the same. Most of your energy goes into building and figuring out solutions, with bug fixes and other tasks mixed in. What you'll do

• Build and ship across the stack (we’re using TypeScript for 95% of the product surface).
• Own the systems that touch customers directly, from how we onboard, guide and support them to how we serve data in the API they integrate with.
• Decide what to build in collaboration with leadership, sales, marketing and data teams.
• Care about your solutions being actually used and understand what matters to our users: dig deeper in analytics, join commercial conversations, be curious.
• Push on new ways customers can interact with our data. Maybe new API capabilities, new functionality in the map or something else.
• Dig into bugs and edge cases.

What you won't do

• Ship something and never find out if anyone uses it.
• Wait around for permission to fix something you can see is broken.
• Spend more time in alignment meetings than building.

What we're looking for

• 6+ years of hands-on experience shipping full-stack features in production and scaling them.
• Early-stage tech company / product experience.
• Product mindset, meaning that you build with the user in mind and have strong, defensible opinions on what "good" looks like; in code, in product, in process.
• Comfortable with data-heavy products, where edge cases and correctness can play a big part.
• Founder mentality, meaning that you are excited about building new products and taking them from an early stage to something users rely on. You spend time across the organization to deepen your knowledge and learn how users interact with the product to build things that are used.
