Senior Software Engineer

Role Description The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend services and applications that support SquareX’s technology solutions for clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and testable code; performing code reviews; troubleshooting and optimizing existing systems; and collaborating with product managers, architects, and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical implementations. The role involves contributing to solution design, defining technical standards, and mentoring other engineers on best practices in software development and system architecture. This is a contract role and is fully remote, requiring effective communication, documentation, and collaboration across distributed teams and time zones. Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
• Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade applications and services.
• Expertise in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, databases, and server-side frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and ability to design modular, maintainable systems.
• Experience with modern development tools and practices (version control, CI/CD, testing frameworks, code review workflows).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization/orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote, contract-based environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
