Senior Scientist, Product Science

The role We are currently seeking a Senior Scientist to join the Product Science group, part of Swedish Match's Product Science & Research department in our R&D Center in Stockholm. In this role, you will generate scientifically grounded insights, contributing to building knowledge and understanding on nicotine and flavor performance for oral nicotine products, supporting decision-making across product development, study design, scientific strategy, and internal policy. You will do this by integrating data from multiple sources, applying your expertise in pharmacokinetics and statistics, and developing analytical workflows that are robust and easy to reproduce, all within a team that values collaboration and curiosity. You will lead and manage your own projects, but you will also work as a part of the cross-functional teams and support others by sharing your knowledge and expertise. You will collaborate closely with scientists and research teams across Swedish Match and PMI's global R&D organization. Key Responsibilities:

• Aggregates, analyzes, and interprets scientific data related to nicotine and flavor performance to support product development and scientific strategy.
• Analyze pharmacokinetic (PK) data and apply modeling tools, develop and maintain reproducible analytical workflows and statistical programming solutions.
• Supports the design and planning of human studies and consumer investigations, including administration, sampling strategies and endpoint analysis.
• Synthesize data from diverse sources, including scientific studies and publications, into actionable insights for cross-functional teams.
• Translate scientific findings into knowledge that guides product innovation/development and scientific strategy.
• Interpret and communicate complex scientific data to both scientific and non-scientific stakeholders.

About you As a person, you have a high level of scientific curiosity and critical thinking, combined with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive progress in scientific projects. In this role you will work both as SME in scientific research as well as being project responsible in collaborations across a global R&D organization. You enjoy working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment and are comfortable communicating complex scientific data to both scientific and non-scientific audiences. We value precision, initiative, and the ability to turn complex data into insights that support the business. Qualifications:

• Master's or PhD in Biostatistics, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• Formal training in statistical modeling or pharmacometrics analysis is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a scientific role within pharmaceutical, biotech, or clinical research environments.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written, is required. Proficiency in Swedish is considered a strong advantage.

Requirements:

• Experience analyzing pharmacokinetic data.
• Experience in scientific programming and analytical workflow development.
• Proficiency in statistical programming (e.g. R, SAS).
• Experience with PK modeling tools.
• Strong understanding of study design, sampling strategies, and endpoint analysis, with experience working with large datasets.
• Ability to interpret, translate and communicate complex scientific data to cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive progress with minimal supervision.
• Ability to build effective partnerships and collaborations with internal and external partners.
• Highly developed communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
