Senior Scientist – Biacore (SPR) & Glycosylation

Are you an experienced scientist with expertise in Biacore (SPR), protein characterization, and glycosylation analysis? We are looking for a Senior Scientist to join an exciting R&D assignment within Life Science, contributing to the development of innovative analytical technologies for bioprocessing. You will be part of an international and cross-functional research environment, collaborating with colleagues across Sweden, the UK, and the USA to advance new concepts within Process Analytical Technology (PAT). THE ROLE As a Senior Scientist, you will play a key role in driving experimental work related to glycosylation and nanobody-binding studies. Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and executing glycosylation and binding experiments independently.
• Developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting Biacore/SPR assays.
• Performing affinity and kinetic characterization of proteins and binders.
• Analyzing experimental data and sensorgrams.
• Identifying sources of variation and proposing next steps.
• Documenting protocols, results, and conclusions.
• Presenting findings and collaborating with international project teams.
• Supporting technology evaluation and method development within PAT.

REQUIREMENTS

• PhD in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Protein Science, Biophysics, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field. Alternatively, an MSc with equivalent senior research experience.
• Hands-on experience with Biacore or other SPR platforms

Strong understanding of:

• Binding kinetics and affinity analysis.
• Assay development and optimization.
• Data interpretation and experimental design.
• Experience planning and executing exploratory laboratory studies.
• Ability to work independently and drive scientific investigations forward.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

MERITORIOUS

• Experience with nanobodies, antibodies, glycobiology, or glycosylation analysis.
• Experience within biopharmaceutical development, PAT, or analytical development.
• Knowledge of FIDA or other protein characterization techniques.
• Experience working in cross-functional R&D environments.
