Senior React Native Engineer – More Than Just Code Shape the Technical Direction & Stay Hands-On We're looking for a Senior React Native Engineer in Copenhagen to help shape the technical direction of the Skatteguiden app. Over one million Danes use Skatteguiden to understand and optimise their taxes. Skatteguiden automates tax tracking, surfaces deductions people didn't know they had, and gives users the insight they need to make better financial decisions – all connected directly to the Danish tax authority. Skatteguiden is an independent, profitable company of around 50 people based in central Copenhagen, with a 4.7-star rating and a simple mission: to make financial insight accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford an accountant. Skatteguiden's mobile engineers each work within a product team, building features, while also collaborating across teams in a frontend guild responsible for the app's shared architecture and tooling. As the app and the company's ambitions grow, Skatteguiden is looking for an experienced engineer to help drive the guild's technical direction and ensure that larger mobile platform initiatives receive attention early. About the role You'll join a small, highly skilled engineering team with a high degree of autonomy, where your work has real impact. Technical excellence is taken seriously, with a strong focus on security, architecture and keeping technical debt under control. As Senior React Native Engineer, your key responsibilities will be to:

• Set the technical direction for the app and make the big architecture calls.
• Lead the modernisation of the mobile setup: assess where their React Native version, release tooling and dependencies stand, and decide the right path forward.
• Spot platform risks early, such as app store, OS and payment library changes, and plan for them before they become deadlines.
• Coach and collaborate with your app engineers and help lead the frontend guild.
• Stay hands-on: you'll still build features within a team.

About you You're someone who has already been the go-to mobile person in a team: you have shaped a codebase, led a major upgrade or migration, and raised the standard of the engineers around you. You're as comfortable influencing people as writing code, and you're able to explain technical trade-offs to product and business colleagues. What You Bring

• Strong, recent React Native and TypeScript experience, shipping to both iOS and Android.
• Experience with over-the-air update solutions such as Expo or CodePush.
• Experience with in-app purchases and subscriptions.
• A track record of owning architecture or tooling decisions, not just working within them.
• Experience mentoring or leading other engineers.
• Genuine enthusiasm for AI. You use it daily and are always looking for new ways to apply it.
• A confident, down-to-earth approach, bringing strong expertise without a big ego.

Beyond the Essentials

• Led a React Native New Architecture migration or a major version upgrade.
• Experience implementing and evolving design systems, working closely with product designers.
• Native iOS or Android development experience.
