We're Hiring: Senior Quality, Safety & Environmental (QSE) Engineer 📍 Location: Gothenburg, Sweden 💼 Experience: 10+ years 🔹 Seniority: Expert Level About The Role We are looking for an experienced Quality, Safety & Environmental (QSE) Engineer to support the safe, compliant, and sustainable operation of advanced automotive vehicle testing facilities. In this role, you will work closely with managers, engineers, and technicians to strengthen workplace safety, environmental compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement across vehicle test cells and associated technical facilities. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and improve Quality, Safety & Environmental (QSE) activities within vehicle testing operations.
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, workplace safety regulations, operating permits, and internal standards.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, environmental audits, and compliance reviews.
• Oversee environmental aspects including emissions, waste management, chemical handling, and hazardous materials.
• Investigate workplace accidents, environmental incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Support the safe introduction of new testing equipment, technologies, and operational processes.
• Develop and implement QSE policies, procedures, preventive measures, and improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate inspections and collaborate with regulatory authorities, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and training on workplace safety, environmental requirements, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor environmental performance, prepare compliance reports, and communicate findings to management.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience in environmental management, occupational safety, QSE, HSE, or related engineering functions.
• Degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Swedish environmental and workplace safety regulations.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, safety inspections, environmental audits, and incident investigations.
• Practical experience with chemical safety, waste management, emissions control, and environmental compliance.
• Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, automotive, laboratory, or technical testing environments.
• Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical operational procedures.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Proven ability to independently drive improvement initiatives and communicate with senior management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automotive test cells, vehicle testing facilities, or industrial laboratories.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001 management systems.
• Experience with Swedish regulatory authorities and environmental permitting processes.
• Familiarity with machinery safety, technical equipment installations, and hazardous substances.
• Experience leading QSE improvement projects or site-level environmental initiatives.
