Project Manager, Concept Design Track (Life Science Manufacturing Programme) A large, regulated manufacturer is setting up a new production programme and is moving forward fast. The first phase turns several early concepts into real designs ahead of management decisions. We are building a shortlist of project managers across Europe to lead individual concept design tracks, with first starts expected around the turn of the year, subject to client approval. The assignment Each project manager owns one track from early concept into design. The scope will be shaped with the client, so you will be expected to structure it yourself and not wait for a detailed brief. The programme involves several sites and is planned with advanced automation and digital material flow from the start. What you will do Own one concept design track end to end, from scope and plan through to the decision points the programme sets Manage the suppliers and engineering partners involved in your track Work with local sites on a centrally run programme and bring them along Raise conflicts early, for example shared space or resources between tracks, and bring options, not only problems Work closely with a small, senior client team, in person where needed Who we are looking for Senior project or programme management experience in front-end, concept or basic design phases of industrial CAPEX projects, ideally in life science, pharma or other regulated manufacturing Self-managing: you have taken an under-defined scope and structured it without a detailed brief Experience managing several suppliers and engineering disciplines at the same time Experience delivering to a fixed management or investment decision date under real time pressure Experience working across more than one site, including where local teams pushed back on a central approach Some awareness of automation and digital manufacturing (AGV, automated material flow, MES). Depth is not required Fluent English, able to work on site in the Nordics, and available at short notice You do not need to be a specialist in the product. Practical Freelance or consulting assignment, full time, duration to be confirmed Start: around the turn of the year, subject to client approval Location: on site in the Nordics, with some travel between sites Status: the programme is not confirmed yet.
