Senior Project Manager - Aircraft Transitions

Luton, GBR Zaventem, BE; Rijssen, NL; Hannover, DE; Stockholm, SE; Hybrid Permanent Full Time 37.5 140353 As a Senior Project Manager - Aircraft Transitions, you will lead the planning and delivery of complex aircraft transition projects across TUI Airline, ensuring aircraft are seamlessly introduced into or exited from the fleet while protecting TUI’s financial position, operational capacity and industry reputation. Working at TUI Airline Group level across all AOCs and markets, you will bring together technical, commercial and operational expertise to manage complex lease return requirements, negotiate with lessors and external partners, and ensure lease compliance throughout the transition lifecycle. As our aircraft transition projects take place across third-party facilities and airports, flexibility around working hours and travel will be required, with some projects potentially involving extended periods away from your usual place of work. ABOUT THE JOB

• You will manage the complete end-of-lease redelivery strategy and process, ensuring compliance with lease return conditions whilst minimising financial exposure through negotiation of technical exceptions and commercial settlements with lessors.
• You will contribute to aircraft induction projects for new or used aircraft, ensuring they meet TUI's technical standards, regulatory requirements and operational readiness timelines through coordination of pre-delivery inspections, acceptance processes and integration activities.
• You will build and maintain strategic relationships with aircraft lessors, lenders, OEMs and MRO providers, representing TUI Group's technical and commercial interests in negotiations whilst ensuring TUI is viewed as a professional, reliable partner.
• You will coordinate complex, cross-functional fleet programmes across multiple TUI airlines, markets and support functions, influencing and aligning diverse stakeholders without direct line authority to deliver transition objectives on time and within budget.
• You will contribute to strategic fleet planning across TUI Group, developing comprehensive project plans and risk mitigation strategies that anticipate technical, commercial and operational challenges months in advance.
• You will manage transition project budgets, track costs against forecasts, and develop business cases for commercial decisions such as condition buy-outs or technical exceptions, providing financial analysis and recommendations to senior management.
• You will drive best practices and continuous improvement. maintaining comprehensive transition documentation and airworthiness continuity throughout the transition process.
• You will proactively identify strategic opportunities that can be implemented to smooth the asset transition process.

ABOUT YOU

• Proven experience within a Part-CAMO technical role or aircraft fleet management environment.
• Proven experience managing complex, high-value aviation projects with multiple stakeholders, including aircraft lessors, OEMs or MRO providers.
• Broad technical knowledge of aircraft maintenance, airworthiness regulations and lease agreement structures, and knowledge of IATA best practices and aviation industry standards.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work across different business cultures with multiple customers and stakeholders across a range of source markets.
• Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen, with an understanding of business risk implications in decision-making.
• Must maintain a full clean driving licence and qualify for and maintain Airport Security Clearance(s).
• Project Management qualifications, a degree in engineering (or equivalent) or a Part 66 Licence would be an advantage.
• Tenacious attention to detail combined with strategic thinking capability.
• Familiarity with TUI aircraft types and fleet composition, and with AMOS, Flydocs and MyBoeingFleet, would be an advantage.Team player with the ability to work on own initiative and drive projects independently.
