What you'll do

Senior Product Manager, Scientific Software — Copenhagen The company Our client is a venture-backed Copenhagen biotech that designs a new class of oral drugs. It uses its own generative AI, automated chemistry and high-throughput biology. The platform has made and tested hundreds of thousands of novel compounds, and the company has a major pharma partnership behind it. R&D is organised under a CTO across three groups: AI & Computational Drug Design, Platform Chemistry, and Screening Biology. The role The Senior Product Manager will own the company's internal scientific software, so every team works from the same clean, consistent data with tools that fit together. The company creates, moves and decides on large volumes of chemistry and biology data. Today each team builds its own solutions. The company is moving to a new data platform built for its molecules and will build custom internal products on top of it. The Product Manager is the person who sees that three teams are building three versions of the same thing and turns them into one that works for everyone. Success is measured in time saved for the scientists: the software should save more than it costs. Responsibilities Product ownership

  • Owns the roadmap for the internal scientific software, starting with the three products above.
  • Gathers and challenges requirements from computational design, chemistry and biology, and turns parallel requests into shared solutions.
  • Prioritises with the leadership team: what gets built, in what order, and why.
  • Makes sure the products connect to each other and to the data platform.
  • Runs user testing and adoption with the scientists, and tracks the time saved.

Delivery and leadership

  • Works agile, and knows where agility stops. Ships working products within months without painting the platform into a corner.
  • Leads and coordinates 3–6 developers, a mix of contractors and hires. A front-end engineer may report directly.
  • Helps shape the software team as it grows.

Hands-on, at the start

  • Contributes to the build until the development team is in place. The stack is Python on the back end, React/Redux on the front end, and AWS serverless services.
  • Judges which components fit together and which will break, including AI-assisted code.

The profile The ideal candidate has experience from an environment where software is built and shipped, and a scientific background. Beyond that, in order of importance:

  • People leadership. Has led developers or cross-functional teams, internal or contracted, and aligned stakeholders who don't report to them.
  • Product management track record. Has owned a software product or platform from idea to adoption.
  • Drug discovery experience. Has worked close to design, synthesis, screening or compound selection. Broader R&D software is also relevant.
  • Scientific background. A chemistry or biology degree (either is fine). Knows what they don't know, and asks.
  • Hands-on coding. Can build in Python and React. Judgement matters more than depth.

Mindset: curious enough to ask "what's a canonical SMILES?", pragmatic about agile, and happy to start hands-on and grow into leading a team. Nice to have: AWS serverless, lab automation or screening data, ELN/LIMS or compound registration, startup or scale-up experience. The working language is English. Set-up, package and process

  • Reporting. To the VP of AI & Computational Drug Design, with a weekly 1:1 and short daily stand-ups.
  • Location. On site in Copenhagen, enough to work alongside the chemists and biologists in the lab. There is no fixed number of days.
  • Career path. Starts senior and hands-on, and grows into leading a dedicated software team.
  • Package. A competitive salary, pension, a performance bonus, and participation in the company's warrant programme.
  • Process. A short screening call, then an online session where the candidate presents software they have built, then on-site interviews. The target start is early 2027.
