Senior Product Development Engineer Passenger Vehicle Wheel End Europe - SKF Automotive Business The global Product Development team for Passenger Vehicle (PV) Wheel End is responsible for creating solutions that meet tomorrow’s requirements for passenger car wheel applications. We enable our Product Engineering teams by delivering innovative, reliable, and cost-effective technologies that can be confidently applied in customer projects worldwide. Key responsibilities

  • Lead as technical expert cross functional projects
  • Contribute to the definition, planning, and execution of the product roadmap
  • Identify future market and customer needs
  • Explore and evaluate new and emerging technologies, innovations, and opportunities relevant to wheel end applications
  • Plan, lead, and execute product development projects from concept to implementation
  • Act as a recognized “go-to” expert in defined technical areas by continuously building knowledge and actively sharing it within the engineering community
  • Support and grow the intellectual property portfolio by identifying, screening, and protecting innovative ideas
  • Coordinate development activities with research institutions, suppliers, customers, and external communities
  • Represent the company at customers, conferences, and public events through technical presentations

Requirements

  • Strong experience in wheel end bearing engineering (product and/or application-related)
  • Good/strong understanding of product design on manufacturing feasibility and cost
  • Leadership mindset to identify the roots of challenges, lead the problem-solving process and take care to introduce solutions
  • Proven track record in an expert field of wheel end engineering
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in diverse, international environments
  • Structured and methodical working approach
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Understanding of structural simulation tools (e.g. ANSYS)
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma methodologies is a plus
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • University degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Mechatronics) or Physics
