Position Overview: The Global Senior Procurement Category Manager – Promo Material and Merchandise is a full-time, permanent role based at our Copenhagen HQ, reporting to the Global Procurement Lead. As the day-to-day Category lead, the role owns sourcing and supplier management for merchandise, promotional items, secondary packaging, retail displays, point-of-sale materials, showcards, brochures, leaflets, haircare tools, salon accessories and other marketing and education materials. Working closely with Supply Chain, Marketing, Regulatory, ESG and Finance, the role ensures our brands are supported by the right suppliers at the right cost, quality and sustainability standard, while driving savings, efficiency and innovation across a global supply base. The role is Copenhagen-based with flexible working arrangements in line with company policy, and English is the primary working language, Danish is not a must. Top 5 Priorities for this role:

  • Category leadership – Take day-to-day ownership of the promo material and merchandise category, from secondary packaging and retail displays to point-of-sale, printed materials, haircare tools and salon accessories.
  • Supplier base development – Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers while strengthening strategic relationships with existing partners.
  • Commercial negotiation – Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, contracts, lead times, service levels and commercial terms.
  • Launch and campaign delivery – Support new product launches, campaigns and ongoing portfolio needs through disciplined sourcing and cross-functional project management.
  • Value creation – Drive cost savings, process improvements, sourcing efficiencies and supplier consolidation where relevant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the day-to-day Category lead for merchandise, promotional items, secondary packaging, retail displays, point-of-sale materials, showcards, brochures, leaflets, haircare tools, salon accessories and other marketing or education materials.
  • Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers while maintaining strategic relationships with existing partners, in close collaboration with Supply Chain, Marketing, Regulatory, ESG, Finance and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, contracts, lead times, service levels and commercial terms.
  • Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, OTIF, lead time, responsiveness, flexibility, innovation, sustainability and documentation completeness.
  • Support new product launches, campaigns and ongoing portfolio needs through disciplined sourcing and cross-functional project management.
  • Drive opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, sourcing efficiencies and supplier consolidation where relevant.

Ideal Skills Competencies & Experience: Skills

  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills across pricing, contracts and commercial terms
  • Data-driven decision making, with confidence using digital procurement tools – ideally Microsoft Dynamics and the Microsoft 365 environment
  • Fluent written and spoken English (full professional proficiency); Danish is not essential

Competencies

  • A structured way of working and the ability to operate independently from day one
  • Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management across Supply Chain, Marketing, Regulatory, ESG and Finance
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, lean business environment

Experience

  • Essential: minimum 5–6 years of procurement or category management experience with meaningful responsibility for merchandise, textiles, haircare tools, printed material and packaging, or adjacent direct-material categories
  • Essential: experience with European and global packaging sustainability and compliance expectations
  • Strongly preferred: sector experience in FMCG, beauty, consumer goods or retail
  • Highly desirable: familiarity with global supply chains and exposure to S&OP processes
