Senior Platform Engineer

Build the platform behind the next generation of industrial supply chains Fieldnode is growing, and we are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to strengthen the technical foundation of our products. We work with leading companies across the energy, manufacturing and heavy industry sectors to reduce downtime, strengthen supply chain resilience and enable on-demand manufacturing. Our platform connects asset owners, OEMs, engineering companies and manufacturing partners through one digital ecosystem. Our vision is to simplify industrial supply chains by shipping files, not parts. The role As Senior Platform Engineer, you will develop and maintain the backend services, cloud infrastructure and deployment processes supporting Fieldnode’s products. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to improve platform reliability, security, performance and developer experience. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to both technical delivery and long-term platform decisions. Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable backend services and platform capabilities
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation and release processes
• Manage containerised applications across development and production environments
• Strengthen platform reliability, security, performance and monitoring
• Support authentication, authorisation and system integrations
• Investigate production issues and implement long-term improvements
• Contribute to platform architecture, technical standards and engineering practices
• Mentor engineers and share technical knowledge across the team

What we are looking for

• 5+ years of experience in backend, platform or cloud engineering
• Strong backend development experience using Java, TypeScript or any other comparable language
• Developed and maintained a globally accessible platform serving users worldwide, with a focus on low latency and high availability
• Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot or .NET
• Hands-on experience with Azure or another major cloud platform
• Strong experience with Docker and Terraform
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and other technologies from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) ecosystem
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Experience using GitOps, Flux and similiar tooling
• Good understanding of APIs, distributed systems, relational databases and system integrations
• A practical and structured approach, with a strong sense of ownership
• Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively across engineering and product teams
• Fluent English, written and spoken
• Based in Oslo and comfortable working in a hybrid model
