Senior Manager - Data Platforms Sweco Sweco is Europe’s leading architecture and engineering consultancy. Its 23,000 engineers, architects and specialists design the communities and cities of the future, across buildings, urban development, water, energy, industry and transport infrastructure. Clients range from public-sector organisations to industrial companies. Its decentralised model combines strong local presence with deep specialist expertise close to the client. Sweco believes AI will fundamentally change how engineering services are delivered. The CTO organisation already has a 20-person AI & Automation team, and the foundation of the data platform is in place. Sweco is now looking for a technical leader to take full ownership of the platform and build what comes next. The role

• Own the data platform and drive key architecture decisions.
• Stay hands-on: write production code during the first year and work directly alongside the engineers.
• Turn Sweco Data Market into a robust, operational platform.
• Drive adoption and value realization and support the business in identifying and delivering use cases that materially change how the business operates.
• Build and lead a new team of engineers, you will be reporting directly to the CTO.

What we are looking for

• You have built production systems yourself and taken responsibility for running them.
• You understand data and software engineering principles.
• You have hands-on experience with operational data on Databricks, Microsoft Azure, GCP, AWS or Snowflake.
• You are fluent in English.
• Experience with working with engineering data e.g. IoT, telemetry, etc is meriting, but not a requirement.

Desirable

• You have led engineering teams and recruited technical talent.
• You understand how to build software and data capabilities inside a large organisation where software is not the core product.
