Senior Information Technology Architect

Senior IT Architect - Data & Information Architecture Location: Solna, Stockholm, Sweden Start Date: 1st November 2026 End Date: 30th April 2027 Work Style: Hybrid, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week Contract Type: Fixed-term, with possibility of extension Role Purpose Establish and embed a coherent target vision for future data and information supply. Analyse the current architecture and define a sustainable target across information, data, integration, and data-platform domains. Assess organisational needs, identify improvement opportunities, and provide expert architectural advice. Collaborate closely with enterprise, information, data, solution and domain architects, platform owners, information-security functions, and business representatives. Key Responsibilities

• Map and document the current information and data architecture.
• Develop and secure agreement for the target architecture covering data and information supply, flows, and platforms.
• Analyse how data and information should move between source systems, integration platforms, data platforms, and consuming solutions.
• Clarify ownership, interfaces, and architecture principles for information sharing and data exchange.
• Identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and strategic options, and produce supporting recommendations and decision material.
• Develop a high-level roadmap and help operationalise the required architectural transitions.
• Support architecture forums, governance processes, and ongoing initiatives across information, data, integration, and platform areas.

Tasks

• Assess current IT needs, objectives, platforms, data domains, and dependencies.
• Create current-state and target-state models, principles, and supporting architecture documentation.
• Define scalable approaches for data flows, data products, master data, and reference data.
• Evaluate architectural options and document their risks, impacts, and trade-offs.
• Align target solutions with information security, information governance, and data-governance requirements.
• Guide delivery initiatives and align technical, security, governance, and business stakeholders.
• Present complex architecture recommendations clearly in both Swedish and English.

Deliverables

• Documented current-state architecture across the relevant information and data landscape.
• Agreed target architecture for data and information supply, flows, and platforms.
• Clear definitions of architectural responsibilities, interfaces, and principles.
• Gap, risk, dependency, and impact assessments with recommended strategic choices.
• Decision material and a high-level roadmap supporting implementation of the target architecture.

Authority / Accountability

• Lead complex architecture matters from initial analysis through to an agreed recommendation.
• Act as a senior adviser to strategic and delivery initiatives across data, information, integration, and platforms.
• Challenge assumptions, resolve architectural ambiguity, and create alignment across stakeholder groups.
• Maintain a coherent architectural direction while supporting practical implementation decisions.

Requirements

• University degree in IT, systems science, information management, or an equivalent discipline.
• At least 10 years of IT architecture experience in large, complex environments, including work as an Enterprise, Lead, Solution, or equivalent senior architect.
• Deep expertise in one or more of data architecture, information architecture, integration architecture, or data platforms.
• Documented experience developing, documenting, and securing stakeholder agreement for target architectures and strategic roadmaps.
• Experience analysing information flows, data flows, data products, master data, reference data, and information supply.
• Strong understanding of information security, information governance, data governance, gap analysis, and impact assessment.
• Excellent spoken and written Swedish and English, with the ability to communicate complex recommendations clearly.
• Self-directed and capable of taking ownership of complex architecture matters from analysis to an agreed recommendation.
• Desirable experience includes Kafka and event-driven architecture; Databricks or Lakehouse; Azure, cloud and API integration; data mesh; Master Data Management; regulated or critical infrastructure; TOGAF and ArchiMate.

Working Conditions

• The assignment may use one or two consultants depending on expertise and divided responsibilities. A single consultant must cover the full scope independently at approximately 100% allocation.
• Hybrid assignment based in Solna for 40 hours over 5 days weekly; the required office attendance frequency is not specified.
• Initial assignment from 1st November 2026 to 30th April 2027, with the possibility of extension.
