What you'll do

Cota Robotics puts robots to work in retail stores. They take on the repetitive, time-consuming jobs like inbounding goods, replenishing shelves and sorting stock, currently mostly overnight. They're driven from our control room in Stockholm and increasingly run on their own. We raised a €1.92M pre-seed in August 2026 and are live with retailers in Sweden and Finland. We're a small team based at Sankt Eriksgatan in Stockholm, where half the office is our own dark store. The role We design and assemble our own robot platform in-house. It’s CE-marked and working in customer stores, and it’s far from done. Hardware is where we need to level up the most, and you’ll own it: how the robot looks, how well it’s built, and how it gets produced at scale. From concept and CAD through prototyping and 3D printing to manufacturing and assembly. You’ll see your work running in stores within weeks. What you'll do

  • Own the robot’s design: concept and visualize new products and subsystems
  • Model structures, mechanisms and enclosures in CAD
  • Prototype rapidly and iterate from what you see in stores
  • Design for manufacturing and assembly, and take designs through to production
  • Apply solid hardware fundamentals: GD&T, tolerances, tooling, material selection
  • Set the quality bar for what ships and what doesn’t

What we're looking for

  • A track record of taking a physical product from concept to production. It exists in the real world, not just in renders
  • High taste: in how the product looks, and in where the bar sits for what’s acceptable
  • High agency: you spot the problem and ship the fix without being told
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, unfinished environment where the plan changes
  • Ready for long weeks when it matters and demos that have to work tomorrow
  • Fluent in English; Swedish is a plus
  • You must already have the right to work in Sweden, as unfortunately we’re not able to offer visa sponsorship at our current stage

How to apply: Include a portfolio link showing physical products you’ve built. Your portfolio is the most important part of your application. Why join

  • A founding role with ownership of the hardware
  • Meaningful equity
  • See your designs running in real stores within weeks
  • Shape the next version of the robot
