Job Description Summary Bring your hardware expertise, expand into new technical domains, and help integrate them into complete cardiovascular ultrasound systems that make a meaningful impact on patient care. We are looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join our Cardiovascular Ultrasound team in Horten, Norway, where you will contribute to advanced medical-device platforms across the full product lifecycle, from next-generation product development to installed-base support, reliability improvements, and long-term platform sustainability. Working on industry-leading cardiovascular ultrasound products such as Vivid Pioneer, you will help develop, integrate, verify and sustain complex hardware platforms that enable high-performance medical imaging solutions used by clinicians worldwide. This role is ideal for engineers who have deep expertise in one hardware discipline and are motivated to broaden their technical scope while contributing to complete system integration. Whether your background is in electronics, embedded hardware, computing platforms, FPGA technology, power architecture, firmware, or systems engineering, you will have the opportunity to grow into adjacent domains while collaborating with experts across multiple engineering disciplines. Job Description As part of a diverse and multicultural engineering organization in Horten, you will work closely with electronics engineers, digital/FPGA engineers, systems integration engineers and mechanical engineers, while collaborating with software engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, supply chain and supplier partners. You will also work with GE HealthCare ultrasound teams across Europe, the United States and Asia. We are not expecting expertise in every technical area described below. Instead, we are looking for an engineer with strong competence in at least one relevant hardware field, combined with the curiosity, learning agility, and systems mindset required to understand how individual subsystems come together to form complete ultrasound products. You will contribute to system architecture, hardware design, integration, verification, platform development, technical problem solving, lifecycle management and reliability engineering activities while helping ensure robust, scalable and maintainable product platforms.
