Senior Group Accounting Specialist

We are strengthening our Finance organisation and are looking for an experienced Senior Group Accounting Specialist to join our Shared Service Centre in Gdańsk. You will report to Jesper Andersen, Head of Accounting, and play an important role in strengthening financial reporting, accounting quality, governance and processes across the Group. Your role You will combine hands-on accounting with a broader responsibility for improving how Finance works across Royal Greenland. Working closely with colleagues in the Shared Service Centre, Group Finance and local finance teams, you will contribute to accurate, timely and well-documented financial reporting. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and posting general ledger journal entries, accruals and period-end adjustments
• Performing and reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting and coordinating month-end and year-end closing
• Contributing to annual financial statements and reporting
• Preparing documentation and coordinating requests for internal and external audit
• Supporting tax and transfer pricing activities and documentation
• Ensuring strong accounting documentation, controls and compliance
• Working closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Fixed Assets and General Ledger teams

• Develop and maintain Group accounting policies and procedures
• Strengthen internal controls and financial governance
• Standardise and automate finance processes
• Improve reporting quality, documentation and process efficiency
• Develop Finance best practices across the organisation
• Strengthen tax, transfer pricing and compliance processes

We are therefore looking for someone who is comfortable working within established processes – but who also asks: Can we make this simpler, more robust and more efficient? Who are we looking for? You are an experienced finance professional with a strong accounting foundation who enjoys being close to the numbers while also seeing the bigger picture. We expect that you bring:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
• Several years of relevant experience within accounting, financial reporting, audit or finance operations
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience from an international organisation and/or audit environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A structured and quality-oriented approach
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across countries and cultures
• Fluency in English

Experience with SAP, Group reporting, Shared Service Centres, tax and transfer pricing, internal controls, finance transformation or process automation will be an advantage.
