Senior Full-Stack Engineer – Frontend Platform & Design Systems

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join a product-focused technology organization and take a key role in maintaining and evolving its frontend platform. This assignment is to cover a temporary leadership gap within a team responsible for shared frontend frameworks, component libraries, and developer experience initiatives. The team owns the organization's design system, shared UI components, frontend infrastructure, and cross-product navigation experiences. The consultant will initially work closely with the current technical lead for 1-2 months and later assume technical leadership responsibilities for the team. This is primarily a frontend-focused role, complemented by backend development in Node.js and Java. • Own and enhance the organization's component library, including new components, visual updates, and maintenance.
• Develop and improve frontend platform capabilities and micro frontend infrastructure.
• Drive AI-assisted development initiatives such as code generation, design-to-code workflows, developer tooling, and automation solutions.
• Support engineering teams in adopting shared frontend frameworks and best practices.
• Identify and implement performance improvements across multiple web applications.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team.
• Translate complex or ambiguous requirements into clear technical solutions.
• Make architectural and technical decisions while communicating trade-offs effectively.
• Improve monitoring, observability, and issue-reporting processes.
• Contribute to code reviews, mentoring, and engineering excellence initiatives.

Must-Have Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong expertise in React and modern frontend development.
• Solid experience with TypeScript.
• Backend development experience in Node.js and/or Java.
• Experience building or maintaining design systems and component libraries, including accessibility (WCAG/a11y) considerations.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, frontend architecture, and web performance optimization.
• Experience with Docker and cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience working with monitoring and logging solutions.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools and automation within software development workflows.
• Previous experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, or acting as a tech lead.
• Ability to independently drive large, complex assignments with limited guidance.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Micro Frontend architectures and technologies such as Module Federation.
• Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Experience working with messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS.
• Strong understanding of SQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Knowledge of application and platform security best practices.
• Previous experience working in large-scale product organizations.
