Senior Full Stack Developer

POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking a talented Fullstack Developer You will work on a business-critical, customer-facing. This is an exciting opportunity to:

• Operate and evolve a sophisticated TypeScript monorepo across front-end, backend, and edge infrastructure
• Take ownership of feature delivery, incident response, and platform stability
• Work within a senior, high-performing team in a distributed, remote-first environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Operational Excellence

• Monitor production systems and respond to alerts in real-time, triaging issues by severity
• Participate in on-call rotation (defined schedule) with accountability for incident response
• Perform root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews for major incidents
• Execute routine operational tasks: backups, catalogue/translation sync, scheduled job management
• Maintain and continuously improve runbooks, operational dashboards, and monitoring
• Work with observability tools (Grafana, Sentry) to identify and track platform health

Feature Development & Roadmap Delivery

• Design and develop roadmap features in the backlog (experimentation enhancements, SSP improvements, accessibility, market onboarding, etc.)
• Own end-to-end delivery: requirements clarification → design → implementation → testing → deployment
• Execute within Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives)
• Write clean, well-tested TypeScript code following engineering standards
• Collaborate with business and market teams via the Self-Service Portal
• Drive feature delivery to production via GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines

Maintenance & Platform Stability

• Execute dependency and security updates (Nx, TypeScript, Node.js, npm packages) on a regular cadence
• Address security vulnerabilities and patches within defined SLA windows
• Fix bugs and technical debt, following the fix-forward (no rollback) operating model
• Maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) across GCP and Cloudflare with no drift
• Ensure platform compliance with security, privacy, and accessibility standards (WCAG)

Quality & Testing

• Write and maintain unit tests (Vitest) and end-to-end tests (Playwright) for all feature work
• Ensure test suite passes and maintains ≥80% coverage
• Participate in accessibility testing and WCAG conformance validation
• Enforce CodeQL and dependency-audit gates in the PR process
• Collaborate on code reviews with high quality standards
• Validate orchestrations and critical data flows

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience (or 3+ years for mid-level candidates)
• Proven experience operating production, cloud-native, customer-facing services in a high-throughput environment
• Experience with incident response and on-call operations in production systems
• Track record of delivering features in an agile, fast-paced environment

Technical Skills Core Frontend

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES2020+)
• Deep experience with React 18 or Preact (component design, hooks, state management)
• Redux Toolkit for state management
• Experience building and optimizing user-facing features with performance in mind
• Familiarity with browser APIs, DOM manipulation, and front-end performance profiling

Core Backend

• Strong Node.js experience (production-scale applications)
• TypeScript for backend services
• RESTful and/or gRPC API design and implementation
• Database experience with Firestore and/or similar NoSQL systems
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) production services: Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub
• Experience with Cloud Run Jobs and scheduled/async processing

Infrastructure & DevOps

• Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code principles (managing GCP resources)
• Cloudflare Workers (edge computing, serverless functions)
• GitHub and GitHub Actions (CI/CD pipelines, branch protection, automated testing)
• Docker containerization and deployment concepts
• Comfortable working with cloud networking, load balancing, and security groups

Tooling & Practices

• Nx monorepo management (workspace tooling, build optimization)
• Vitest for unit testing
• Playwright for end-to-end testing
• gRPC (optional but valuable)
• Observability tools: OpenTelemetry, Sentry, application logging
• Git workflow (conventional commits, PR reviews, protected branches)
