Senior Full Stack Developer

At Evam, we build mission-critical technology for police, ambulance, fire & rescue, and other public safety organisations. Our software helps first responders manage complex, time-critical incidents every day. We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer to help build and shape the systems that need to work flawlessly when it matters most. You’ll work across our platform using Kotlin, Spring Boot 4, React and TypeScript, with real influence over architecture, data modelling, frontend experience, reliability and how we evolve the product as we scale. This is a hands-on senior role with significant autonomy. You won’t just implement features — you’ll help set the engineering standard for the platform and raise the bar for the team around you. What you’ll do

• Design and build high-quality backend and frontend systems
• Make key architectural and technical decisions
• Shape APIs, data models, modularisation and testing strategy
• Work closely with design to create intuitive, high-quality user experiences
• Review code and collaborate on complex engineering challenges
• Help establish patterns that other engineers can build on
• Use modern AI tools to accelerate development, debugging, code review and design exploration

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong experience with Kotlin + Spring Boot and React + TypeScript
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers and raising engineering standards
• Experience taking a product or codebase from an early stage and building foundations that scale
• Strong architectural judgement across APIs, data modelling, testing and system design
• Confidence contributing to UX and UI discussions
• Active use of AI development tools such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor
• Strong English communication skills
• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset and high standards for quality and reliability
• Motivation to build software with meaningful real-world impact

Nice to have

• Experience in safety-critical, regulated or high-availability environments
• Experience hiring or onboarding senior engineers
• Experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes and modern CI/CD
• Experience introducing AI-assisted development practices to a team
