Senior Embedded Linux & Security Engineer

About the Role A technology company in Southern Sweden is looking for a Senior Embedded Linux & Security Engineer to help build and secure Linux-based platforms for connected devices deployed globally. Working at the intersection of embedded software, Linux platform development, and device security, you'll focus on secure boot, platform hardening, firmware updates, and ensuring products remain secure throughout their lifecycle. Opportunity Type: Open to both permanent employees and freelance consultants Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Embedded Linux platforms
• Design and implement Secure Boot solutions
• Work with U-Boot and low-level system software
• Implement TPM integration, encryption and secure firmware updates
• Support BSP development and Linux customisation
• Collaborate with hardware teams during bring-up and development
• Troubleshoot issues across hardware, kernel and application layers

Requirements

• Strong C++ development experience
• Solid Embedded Linux background
• Experience working close to hardware
• Understanding of Linux internals and operating systems
• Experience with Secure Boot and device security
• Knowledge of Yocto or Buildroot
• Familiarity with networking and communication protocols

Nice to Have

• ARM-based systems
• TPM and secure element integration
• PKI and certificate management
• Docker or Podman
• Security standards such as IEC 62443
