Senior Embedded Engineer (C / Low Level / Bare Metal)

Join an established Norwegian pioneer in high-reliability technology. Their engineering teams design, build, and deploy specialised hardware-software solutions in communication critical industries. As part of their planned team expansion, they are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to take technical ownership of low-level firmware and system architecture for mission-critical platforms. The Work Environment & Mindset:

• Direct Hardware Interaction: Hands-on development targeting microcontrollers, SoCs, and FPGA-integrated processing units.
• Bare-Metal & RTOS Architecture: Writing clean, efficient, and deterministic plain C code for bare-metal systems, real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS / legacy RTOS), and supporting the architectural transition toward modern embedded Linux environments.
• High-Assurance Systems: Developing secure firmware
• Collaborative Engineering: Working on-site alongside electronics designers, FPGA specialists, system architects, and mechanical engineers
• Mentorship & Ownership: Taking technical leadership on project architectures

Your profile:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong command of plain C for embedded environments (C++ experience is a plus).
• Proven track record writing bare-metal firmware, device drivers, and working with hardware interfaces/registers.
• Solid understanding of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) or Embedded Linux system development.
• From 4+ years of practical experience in embedded product development
