What you'll do

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Audio Software Developer to join our Automotive Product Team, part of Engineering within Dirac's R&D organization. If you're an experienced embedded developer who wants to work with cutting-edge audio technology and help shape how the cars of tomorrow sound, this role is for you. What Dirac offers you At Dirac, you'll work in an entrepreneurial environment with people who are passionate about inventing the future of sound. You'll join a collaborative agile team that values quality, continuous improvement and having fun along the way. Automotive is a key strategic focus for Dirac, and our ambition is to become number one in automotive audio. In this role, you'll play a central part in making that happen. Your role You'll develop, test and maintain our Intelligent Audio Platform (IAP), a scalable software platform that brings our audio technology to automotive DSPs and SoCs for in-car audio experiences. You'll work closely with our algorithm team and other software teams in Sweden, Denmark and India. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Developing, integrating and testing new audio processing blocks in the IAP
  • Maintaining and improving the IAP architecture for scalability, configurability and ease of integration in customer programs
  • Providing 2nd-line technical support to our automotive customer programs
  • Driving improvements to our development processes and ways of working

Your initial focus will be to build a deep understanding of our IAP architecture and the automotive business context, so you can work independently on prioritized features and improvements. Longer term, you'll take ownership of features and epics from start to finish, with a clear path to a technical lead role. Who you are You're a team player who believes the best results come from "we" rather than "me". You take ownership, know how to balance risk, quality and speed, and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others. You have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, mathematics, or electronics
  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience, a significant part of it in embedded systems
  • Strong embedded C skills, including real-time and performance-critical code
  • Experience designing scalable, configurable software platforms or frameworks
  • Working knowledge of C++, Python and CMake
  • Solid engineering practices such as code reviews, test-driven development, CI and test automation
  • Strong communication skills in English

It is a plus if you have:

  • Hands-on experience with DSP (Digital Signal Processing), ideally on embedded DSP architectures and/or in the audio domain
  • Experience in developing cross platform libraries that target multiple different architectures
  • Experience with application development frameworks such as Qt
  • Experience from a structured, regulated development environment (e.g., Automotive SPICE or medical devices)
  • Experience with embedded operating systems such as an RTOS, embedded Linux, QNX or Android Automotive
  • A background in audio, e.g., acoustics, audio software or audio hardware
