What you'll do

About Quandify Quandify was founded in 2017 and we develop smart, connected water sensors that help people keep track of their water consumption and protect them against water leaks. Everything is developed in-house, from sensor and mechanics to electronics, firmware, backend and app. To date we’ve shipped more than 80,000 sensors across Europe, and our office is in Alviks Strand (Stockholm). About the role We’re looking for an electronics and embedded developer to join our team, which today consists of two senior embedded developers. We’re entering several new markets and have new products in the pipeline, so we need one more person who can take things all the way: concept, schematic, layout, firmware, testing and production. From grain to loaf, as we say in Swedish. Since we’re a small team, we’re looking for someone who doesn’t just want a finished requirements spec handed to them, but someone proactive who, together with the rest of the team, solves the problems that pop up. You’ll work closely with the software team and the commercial side, so it helps if you enjoy understanding the whole system and not just your own circuit board. To complement the team’s skills, we’d love for you to have extra knowledge of, or interest in, test automation, so we can release often and still sleep well at night. Some of the things we work with:

  • PCB design, prototyping and taking products into production
  • C/C++ for resource-constrained environments
  • Wi-Fi, BLE and LoRaWAN
  • MQTT
  • Ultrasonic flow measurement
  • Battery-powered devices where every microampere counts

We think you:

  • Have a solid understanding of electronics and have taken designs from prototype to production (KiCad, Altium or similar)
  • Are strong in C or C++
  • Have worked with microcontrollers such as ESP32, STM32, MSP430 or similar
  • Know your way around wireless protocols such as BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRa or Thread
  • Have a foundation in physics and math that lets you reason about signals, current and real-world limitations
  • Have a degree in embedded systems, electronics, mechatronics, robotics, electrical engineering or equivalent experience

Nice to have:

  • Programming outside embedded (Python, scripts, tooling)
  • Experience with IoT products that have actually shipped to real users

A few development things we like:

  • Measuring before guessing
  • Modularity
  • Pragmatism

A few development things we like less:

  • “It worked on my bench”
  • Layers upon layers of abstraction on top of the hardware
  • Power budgets calculated after launch

We use Claude and Claude Code daily, but we own the code and the designs we create. We believe in “Friends don’t let friends read slop”. WFH policy This is an on-site role. The lab, the instruments and the products are at the office in Alviks Strand, so we need you here most of the time. WFH is the exception rather than the rule. Right to work in Sweden To be considered, you need to already have the right to work in Sweden. As a small team, we’re unfortunately not able to offer visa or work permit sponsorship, or relocation support. We know this rules out some great people, and we’d rather be upfront about it than waste anyone’s time. Not a perfect match? Even if you don’t tick every box above but think this sounds fun and interesting, apply anyway and we’ll take it from there! (As long as you already have the right to work in Sweden.)
