senior Design System/Frontend Engineer

Role: senior Design System/Frontend Engineer Location: Malmo, SE-Hybrid Type: Contract Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Design System Engineer / Senior Frontend Developer to join a team responsible for building and maintaining reusable UI components and frontend libraries used across multiple digital products. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Vue 3, and Web Components, along with a deep understanding of web accessibility and scalable component architecture. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance reusable UI components and frontend libraries.
• Build solutions using TypeScript/JavaScript, React, Vue 3, and Web Components.
• Ensure components meet WCAG accessibility standards and follow best practices.
• Write unit, integration, and visual regression tests.
• Maintain high code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Maintain Storybook documentation and developer guidelines.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and product teams.
• Support other engineering teams in integrating and using shared UI packages.

Must-Have Skills

• Software/frontend development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
• Proven experience building design systems, component libraries, or reusable UI packages.
• Strong production experience with React, Vue 3, and Web Components.
• Excellent knowledge of Web Accessibility (a11y) and WCAG.
• Experience with automated testing using Jest/Vitest, Testing Library, or similar tools.
• Experience with npm packages, CI/CD, semantic versioning, and component API design.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with design tokens and Figma-to-code workflows.
• Experience with Storybook, Vite, Rollup, Nx, or Turborepo.
• Experience optimizing frontend performance, bundle size, and tree-shaking.
