What you'll do

Senior Consultant, Biological Data Science In short This is a role for someone who wants more than just another consulting project. You will become the person the client trusts, calls first and relies on to move things forward. You will own the relationship, help shape the solution and stay close enough to the work to understand exactly what is being delivered. Instead of moving from one unrelated project to the next, you will build real depth in one of the most exciting areas in technology and life science: using data, AI and computational biology to support the earliest stages of drug discovery. “Senior” here is about ownership, judgement and client presence — not years served. The sweet spot is around two to five years of consulting experience. About the company We are recruiting for a profitable, founder-led Danish technology company in Copenhagen that builds software for the earliest stages of drug discovery. When a pharmaceutical company develops a new medicine, one of the biggest challenges is deciding which molecules are actually worth testing in the lab. The number of possibilities can be enormous, while a laboratory can only test a fraction of them. This company builds the technology that helps researchers find the right ones. Its platform supports pharma and biotech teams across areas such as target selection, modality choice, molecule design and screening — helping scientists move from an almost unlimited number of possibilities to a much smaller, more meaningful set of candidates. The business combines software with specialist consulting. Around 90% of what a client needs already exists within the platform, while the remaining 10% is tailored to the specific research problem. That allows the team to deliver highly specialised solutions far faster than a traditional consultancy starting from scratch. The role This is where you come in. The company already has strong technical people delivering the work. What they need more of are people who can sit between the client and the technology — understand the problem, guide the conversation, shape the solution and build relationships that grow over time. You will become the main point of contact for your clients. You will understand what was promised, what is being delivered and what the client may need next. You will not simply manage timelines or move tasks around a project board. You need enough technical depth to engage with the problem, challenge assumptions and contribute meaningfully to the solution. You will be expected to lead conversations. When a client raises a difficult question in a meeting, you should be comfortable thinking on your feet, structuring the problem and helping define the next step. Over time, the role can also develop further into the commercial side of the business — strengthening existing relationships, identifying new opportunities and helping the company grow. Most importantly, you will have the chance to build real expertise. Instead of constantly changing industries and projects, you will develop deep knowledge of one field, one customer group and one technology platform. What you need

  • You have between 3 to 8 years of experience in consulting, ideally within technology, IT, data, AI or management consulting.
  • You have worked directly with clients and understand what good client relationships look like — including the difficult moments when expectations change, problems appear or there is no obvious answer.
  • You are technically strong enough to understand data-driven solutions, follow technical discussions and work comfortably with engineers and data scientists. Coding or data science experience is highly valuable, although you do not need to be the strongest technical person in the room.
  • You have shown progression in your career and are comfortable taking responsibility earlier than expected.
  • You stay composed under pressure. When you do not know the answer immediately, you do not become defensive — you stay curious, structure the problem and work towards a solution.
  • You communicate well and naturally build trust with people.
  • And because of the client environment, native or fluent Danish is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience within life science, pharma or biotech is a strong advantage, but it is not essential. Even experience working with a pharma client on a previous consulting project can be relevant.
  • A computer science degree is not required. Some of the strongest people in the team come from engineering, AI and other technical backgrounds.

Why join? Build real expertise. If you are tired of moving between unrelated consulting projects, this is a chance to go deep. You will develop tangible expertise in a specialised field where technology, data and life science meet. Work on something that matters. The technology you help deliver supports scientists working on new medicines. The impact is much more tangible than another internal transformation project. Own the client relationship early. There are no unnecessary layers. You will work directly with clients and closely with the people making decisions inside the company. Have visible impact. In a team of around ten people, your contribution will be noticed. Your ideas can influence how clients are managed, how solutions are delivered and how the company grows. Grow beyond consulting. The company wants to develop future commercial leaders from within. If you want to move towards strategic client ownership, business development or commercial leadership over time, there is a clear opportunity to do that. Join at the right moment. The company is already profitable and has proven that clients want what it builds. The next chapter is about scaling the relationships, commercial organisation and reach of the business — and this role will be part of shaping that.
