Senior Business Analyst - PLM Digital Thread

Assignment Description Volvo Penta is accelerating the development of digital capabilities supporting Product Development and future business growth. We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support and drive activities within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Product Data Management (PDM), Digital Thread and Component Sales initiatives. The assignment combines business analysis, process development, solution design and delivery support. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, Digital Product Managers, development teams and subject matter experts to detail requirements, define future ways of working and secure progress in strategically important initiatives. The role requires both analytical capability and a hands-on approach. The consultant is expected to structure complex problem areas, facilitate cross-functional alignment and transform business needs into actionable activities, backlog items and solution concepts. Background PLM Digital Thread The PLM Digital Thread initiative aims to strengthen the management, quality, traceability and reusability of product information throughout the product lifecycle. The ambition is to establish a more connected and scalable product information landscape that supports collaboration from product development through industrialization, sales and aftermarket. Component Sales Component Sales is a growing business area focusing on making components, systems and associated services available to a broader range of customers and applications. To enable scalable growth, future capabilities must be supported by robust product structures, configuration management, technical documentation and reliable product information across the value chain. The two initiatives are closely connected, with Digital Thread capabilities providing an important foundation for future Component Sales growth and operational scalability. Responsibilities

• Perform business analysis and capability assessments.
• Map current and future-state processes, information flows and user needs.
• Gather, analyze and document business requirements.
• Define epics, features, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Support solution detailing together with architects and development teams.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews and stakeholder discussions.
• Develop process maps, concepts and decision material.
• Support backlog management, prioritization and roadmap activities.
• Drive assigned work items from analysis through implementation support.
• Identify dependencies, risks and decision needs across functions.
• Contribute to change management, communication and adoption activities when required.

Required Profile

• Extensive experience as Business Analyst, Product Analyst or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Data Management (PDM).
• Extensive knowledge of PDM logic, processes and system solutions.
• Experience working with complex product development environments.
• Proven ability to translate business needs into requirements and implementable solutions.
• Experience facilitating workshops and managing stakeholders across multiple functions.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and drive activities to completion.

Highly Meritorious

• Experience from our client's product development processes and digital solutions.
• Knowledge of our client's PDM/PLM architecture, information models and associated tool landscape.
• Experience working with product structures, configurations, technical documentation and engineering information management.
• Experience from Digital Thread, product information management or master data initiatives.
• Familiarity with Volvo Penta products, processes, system landscape and business context.
• Experience working with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence and agile ways of working.
