Senior AI Engineer

Senior AI / Software Engineer Oslo, Norway | Full-Time We are seeking an experienced Senior AI / Software Engineer to join a high-performing product engineering team building next-generation AI-powered applications. This position is suited to an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, developing scalable backend systems, and deploying AI solutions into production environments. You will play a key role in designing architecture, building intelligent features, and driving technical excellence across the development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Develop and deploy AI-driven applications and intelligent automation solutions.
• Build systems leveraging modern LLMs, RAG frameworks, and machine learning technologies.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and engineering best practices.
• Optimise application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern backend development.
• Experience building and operating cloud-native applications.
• Strong understanding of API design, distributed systems, and software architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.
• Exposure to AI/ML technologies, LLMs, vector databases, or retrieval-based systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with LangChain, OpenAI APIs, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks.
• Knowledge of data engineering and MLOps principles.
• Experience developing SaaS products at scale.
• Background in highly regulated or enterprise environments.
