What you'll do

Do you enjoy getting the numbers right and finding better ways of getting there? Then read on. About the role Behind every wind farm, solar park, and Power-to-X project we help bring from idea into operation, there are invoices, payments, and accounts that have to be in order – and that is where our team thrives. Across Blue Power Partners (BPP), we are on an ongoing journey towards more automation and standardization of how we handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end closing. We are now looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Controller to help drive that journey further with our Operational Finance team in Aalborg. This is a senior role with hands-on responsibility for controlling, governance, and quality across accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end closing. You take ownership of complex matters and help raise the bar for our deliverables. Your impact comes through your expertise, your curiosity, and the way you share what you know. Together with the team, you will continue to make our processes simpler and smarter, one process at a time – so that over time the routine runs on its own and the team's attention is on the cases that genuinely require judgment. BPP is large enough for the work to be interesting and complex, and small enough that you can see the effect of what you do. You will report to the Head of Group Finance, also based in Aalborg. What you will be doing

  • Take ownership of accounts payable and accounting quality across the company – ensuring everything runs smoothly as we continue to automate and standardize these processes, and that data quality remains high across our legal entities.
  • Play an active role in month-end and year-end close, including financial controlling, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, intercompany accounting, and fixed assets, with a focus on first-time-right quality and fewer manual corrections.
  • Act as a senior sparring partner in Operational Finance, sharing knowledge and contributing to how we continue to develop our skills, ways of working, and quality standards.
  • Maintain strong governance in execution through documented procedures, appropriate controls, approval hierarchies, and a clear audit trail.
  • Drive standardization, process optimization, and automation within AP and related accounting processes – turning good improvement ideas into practical changes.
  • Reduce manual effort and key-person dependency through automation, documentation, knowledge sharing, and cross-training.
  • Work closely with the Head of Group Finance and Treasury & Specialized Finance to ensure that accounting, tax, VAT, treasury, and internal control requirements are translated into effective day-to-day finance processes.
  • Support external audit and statutory reporting with reconciliations, specifications, and other required documentation.

What we are looking for

  • Solid experience in accounting and controlling, including end-to-end accounts payable, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and provisions, month-end and year-end close, statutory reporting, and external audit.
  • A track record of standardizing and improving finance processes, not just maintaining them.
  • Solid ERP experience (preferably Business Central), experience working with workflow solutions (such as Continia), and strong Excel skills.
  • Good knowledge of Danish GAAP and an understanding of working with local GAAP requirements across several countries.
  • The experience to be a trusted sparring partner – both within the team and across the organization.
  • Fluent in Danish and English, written and spoken.
