SAP Solution Architect

Job Requirements:

• End-to-End Functional Expertise: Deep SAP S/4HANA functional knowledge across Finance, Procurement, Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics and related business processes, with the ability to assess impacts across the complete process landscape.
• Cross-Functional Integration: Proven capability to connect business processes, data, controls and organisational requirements across SAP modules and dependent non-SAP solutions.
• Decision-Making: Ability to evaluate complex design options, dependencies, risks and business trade-offs, then make or recommend timely decisions aligned with programme principles and target architecture.
• Design Authority Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading Design Authority, architecture governance and solution review forums, including challenge, approval, rejection and escalation of design proposals.
• Fit-to-Standard Discipline: Strong command of SAP Activate and Fit-to-Standard methods, with the ability to challenge custom requirements, maximise adoption of standard SAP capabilities and govern justified deviations.
• Solution Facilitation: Strong workshop leadership and stakeholder-management skills to drive solution discussions, resolve cross-workstream conflicts and achieve clear, documented outcomes.
• Delivery Experience: At least 10 years of SAP implementation or transformation experience, including multiple SAP S/4HANA programmes in a functional lead, solution architect or Design Authority role.
• Technical Awareness: Sufficient knowledge of integration, data, security, extensibility, Fiori and SAP BTP to assess functional design implications and collaborate effectively with technical specialists.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the End-to-End Functional Solution: Define and maintain an integrated SAP S/4HANA solution across business functions, ensuring that process, data, integration and control decisions support the target operating model.
• Lead Design Authority: Chair Design Authority and solution governance forums; set design principles, review proposals, challenge unnecessary complexity and approve or escalate decisions based on business value, risk and architectural integrity.
• Drive Cross-Functional Decisions: Identify dependencies and conflicts across workstreams, facilitate evidence-based evaluation of options and secure timely decisions from accountable business and technology stakeholders.
• Drive Solution Discussions: Lead Fit-to-Standard workshops, process playback sessions and solution reviews, translating business outcomes into coherent SAP-enabled processes and actionable design decisions.
• Enforce Fit-to-Standard Compliance: Promote standard SAP best practices as the default, assess gaps rigorously and ensure that extensions or custom developments are supported by clear business justification, impact assessment and formal approval.
• Assure Functional Design Quality: Review and approve process designs, functional specifications, configuration decisions, integration requirements, data impacts, controls and test coverage for consistency with the end-to-end solution.
• Manage Design Risks and Dependencies: Maintain visibility of architecture decisions, assumptions, exceptions, risks and cross-functional dependencies; drive closure and escalate unresolved matters through programme governance.
• Align Business and Delivery Teams: Act as the senior functional bridge between business process owners, functional leads, technical teams, data, integration, security and delivery partners.
• Protect Template Integrity: Ensure local and workstream requirements remain aligned with the global template, design standards and reusable solution patterns, while supporting justified statutory or business-critical localisation.
• Provide Delivery Assurance: Support testing, defect resolution, cutover and go-live readiness by validating that delivered solutions remain integrated, operable and compliant with approved design decisions.
