Role description As Sales Support Manager – Construction, you will lead the global Sales Support function for the Construction Division, strengthening sales effectiveness, customer responsiveness and profitable growth across all product lines. Acting as the key link between Sales Companies, factories, engineering, product management and support functions, you will establish consistent global processes, tools and best practices — including the smart use of AI, digitalisation and automation — to help teams respond faster, reduce non-value-adding time and win more business. The role requires a strong service mindset, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to create positive experiences for internal stakeholders. This role will report directly to the Director Product Support – Construction. This position is based in Europe and involves regular international travel to Sales Companies, manufacturing sites and customer-facing activities. Responsibilities & Key Tasks Commercial growth and sales enablement

  • Increase sales win rates through proactive support of strategic opportunities and complex projects.
  • Support Sales Companies with application expertise, solution design and proposal development.
  • Develop scalable support models that help sales organisations improve commercial performance.
  • Identify opportunities to monetise technical and application engineering services.

Leadership and people management

  • Build, lead and develop a high-performing Sales Support organisation.
  • Define priorities, objectives and performance measures for the Sales Support team.
  • Foster collaboration across factories, engineering, product management and sales organisations.
  • Develop the required competencies, succession plans and capability roadmaps.

Sales operations and process excellence

  • Own and continuously improve the global sales support operating model.
  • Ensure effective use of CPQ, Salesforce, Alicalc, ACE and related systems.
  • Standardise workflows, governance and performance reporting across regions.
  • Use AI, digital tools and automation to simplify ways of working, improve decision support and reduce manual administration.

Customer and factory interface

  • Establish a clear bridge between factories and Sales Companies, and coordinate support resources across regions and product lines.
  • Ensure rapid escalation and resolution of technical and commercial issues.
  • Facilitate the reuse of successful solutions, applications and commercial approaches globally.

Strategy and continuous improvement

  • Contribute to the long-term Sales and Product Support strategy by identifying gaps in tools, processes, competencies and organisational capabilities.
  • Drive improvement initiatives that create measurable customer and business value.
  • Provide structured feedback to Product Management and R&D on market requirements and customer needs.

  • Understanding of Lean principles and how they can improve flow, reduce waste and create measurable business value is considered meritorious.

Qualifications & Experience To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A university degree in Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of eight years' experience in technical sales, sales support, application engineering or a related leadership role.
  • Experience in a global industrial or construction equipment environment.
  • A strong commercial understanding, with the ability to balance customer value and profitability.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional and international teams.
  • Experience driving digital transformation and the adoption of business systems.
