Role snapshot
We are looking for a Restaurant Manager to join Wilderness Hotel Muotka.
In this role, you'll lead the daily operations of the restaurant, build and support a high-performing team, and ensure our guests receive the level of service Wilderness Hotel Muotka is known for. You won't be managing from behind an office door—you'll be part of the daily operations, supporting your team and solving situations as they arise.
Your shifts are mainly scheduled in the evenings, when the restaurant is at its busiest.
What would your workday look like?
Before service – preparing for the evening
Your shift begins by reviewing the day's situation. You'll go through guest numbers, schedules, staffing, and any special requests, making sure everything is ready before dinner service begins.
During the busiest part of the winter season, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all served as buffets at Muotka.
Before dinner service, you'll brief the team, assign stations and responsibilities, and make sure everyone knows their role for the evening. Throughout the day, you'll work closely with the kitchen, reception, and other hotel departments to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Evening – where the action is
As Restaurant Manager, you're part of the restaurant team.
You'll work alongside the waitstaff, meet guests, step in wherever needed, and make sure service flows smoothly throughout the evening. At the end of the shift, you'll typically complete the daily cash reconciliation and reporting.

What you get from this experience
Working in Lapland is more than just a job.
Wilderness Hotel Muotka is located next to Urho Kekkonen National Park, close to the Kiilopää fell area. After work, nature starts right outside your door—you can step straight onto the cross-country ski trails from the hotel yard. During the season you'll experience the polar night, northern lights, and the first sunrise after midwinter.
We also offer Wilderness Hotels employee benefits and staff accommodation if needed.
The apartments are clean and fully equipped—you'll only need to bring your toothbrush and warm winter clothing. During the winter season, accommodation is shared, with two employees per room.
If you enjoy working with us and would like to continue after the winter season, your employment may be converted into a permanent position. As part of a larger hotel group, we're able to offer year-round career opportunities across our different destinations. During Muotka's summer closure, your role and location may change.
Salary and terms
Working hours bank
All employees have access to a working hours bank. Working hours vary throughout the season, and extra hours worked during busier periods can later be taken as time off. Any unused hours will be paid out at the end of employment.
