What you'll do

We are a venture-backed Swedish biotechnology company developing innovative technologies to transform how specialty chemicals and ingredients are manufactured. By combining enzyme engineering, biotechnology and advanced process development, we are creating more efficient and sustainable manufacturing processes for ingredients used across industries, including cosmetics, personal care and food. With growing customer base across Europe, we are moving from technological innovation towards commercial scale, bringing our solutions to an expanding range of industrial applications. We are a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers and commercial professionals working together to bring innovative technologies from the laboratory to industrial-scale production. As we expand our product portfolio and customer relationships across Europe, we are looking for a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join our team and play a key role in bringing our products to market. About the Role As our Regulatory Affairs Specialist, you will play an important role in ensuring that our ingredients and products meet regulatory requirements across different markets and applications. Working closely with our R&D, engineering and commercial teams, you will help us navigate regulatory frameworks, develop compliance strategies and support the commercialisation of new ingredients. This is a hands-on role in a growing biotechnology company where you will have the opportunity to shape our regulatory processes and contribute directly to product development and commercial expansion. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing regulatory requirements for ingredients used in cosmetics, personal care and food applications.
  • Developing regulatory strategies to support new product introductions and market access across Europe and other international markets.
  • Preparing and maintaining regulatory documentation, technical dossiers, safety information and product compliance documentation.
  • Supporting ingredient registrations, regulatory submissions and product classifications where applicable.
  • Working with relevant regulatory frameworks, including EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC), REACH and applicable EU food ingredient legislation.
  • Collaborating with our R&D and engineering teams to incorporate regulatory considerations into product development from an early stage.
  • Supporting our commercial team with customer enquiries regarding regulatory compliance, product specifications and technical documentation.
  • Establishing and improving internal regulatory processes as our product portfolio and commercial activities grow.

About You We are looking for someone who is looking to work at the intersection of science, regulation and innovation. You are comfortable navigating complex regulatory requirements and translating them into practical solutions. You enjoy collaborating with scientists and commercial teams and are motivated by the opportunity to help bring innovative products to market. We believe you have:

  • A university degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Food Science, Toxicology, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
  • Professional experience in regulatory affairs within cosmetics, personal care, food ingredients or specialty chemicals.
  • Good knowledge of European regulatory frameworks relevant to cosmetics, personal care or food ingredients.
  • Experience preparing regulatory documentation and supporting product registrations, compliance assessments or market introductions.
  • An understanding of chemical ingredients, raw materials or biotechnology-based products.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with scientific, technical and commercial stakeholders.

It would be particularly interesting if you have:

  • Familiarity with EU Cosmetics Regulation, REACH, EFSA requirements or Novel Food Regulation.
  • Experience supporting the commercialisation of new ingredients or products.
  • Experience working in a biotechnology, specialty chemicals or ingredient manufacturing company.
  • Experience working with regulatory requirements across multiple European markets.

Experience in both cosmetics and food regulatory affairs is advantageous, but expertise in either area is welcome. Why Join Us? You'll join a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers and commercial professionals working to transform how industrial ingredients are manufactured. This is an opportunity to take ownership of regulatory affairs, influence our product development and commercialisation, and play an important role in scaling sustainable biotechnology solutions.
