Our client is a European research and development organisation working on next-generation vehicle architectures, digital technologies, and intelligent systems. This is a longterm, full-time, on-site assignment as a Regional Software Lead. JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is looking for a Regional Software Lead to own and coordinate European software and functional deliveries. You will be the EU software point of contact towards the teams in China and make sure European software content is planned, integrated, released and accepted on time. Responsibilities: - Represent the European software chief engineers, technology centers and EE department towards the regional project leader - Act as the EU software point of contact towards teams in China - Drive European software deliverables and report progress and delivery status in project and overseas PM meetings - Ensure European software components and features are delivered on time and integrated into the overall software architecture - Coordinate with system and software architects on implementation, update, security and rollback strategies - Consolidate software status from integration, function and component teams - Track software maturity, integration progress, release readiness and OTA readiness - Identify, manage and escalate risks, issues, dependencies, resource gaps and delivery blockers - Own software and function implementation plans, including cross-functional issue resolution and dependency management - Support change review board preparation, management reporting and meetings in China - Coordinate new feature requests and requirement changes through the agreed handshake process - Support validation by reviewing test cases and results against functional requirements, and guide defect resolution for European functionality - Represent software delivery status in project reviews, release boards and management forums REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related field - At least 10 years of experience in the automotive business, working in or close to product development projects - Leadership and team coordination skills - Strong ability to manage complex dependencies across multiple teams and regions - Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex topics and influence senior stakeholders across regions - Available for on-site work on the west coast of Sweden, longterm, full-time (100%) PREFERRED - Native Mandarin is an advantage - Experience with Jira and Office 365 - Open to about 1 to 2 trips to China per year YOUR PROFILE An organised and analytical software delivery lead with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. You are comfortable assessing risk, planning and coordinating across many teams, and keeping Europe and China aligned on the same software plan.
