R&D & Workshop Technician

Location: Denmark Employment: Full time About Us We are a Denmark based defence technology startup developing advanced autonomous systems for security and defence applications. Our team combines expertise across engineering, AI and defence technology, with a strong focus on turning advanced concepts into robust, deployable products designed for real operational and commercial use. About the Role As our R&D & Workshop Technician, you will take ownership of the operational, documentation, procurement and workshop activities surrounding our engineering work. Your objective is to enable our engineers to spend their time designing, building, testing and solving technical problems. At the same time, you will bring structure to a fast moving R&D environment, ensuring that prototypes, configurations, components, tests and engineering learnings are properly documented and can be understood and reproduced by others. This is not an administrative or workshop maintenance position. It is a hands on technical support role, working directly alongside engineers and prototypes. We are looking for someone who is practical, technically curious, structured and hands on. We value people who take ownership, spot what needs to be done and are comfortable operating in an environment where priorities can change quickly as prototypes evolve. Key Responsibilities Prototype & Engineering Support

• Support the preparation, assembly and integration of prototypes under the direction of our engineers.
• Prepare components, wiring, connectors and hardware for builds. Support soldering, mechanical assembly and basic rework where appropriate. Operate 3D printers and manage print queues.
• Prepare prototypes, batteries, tools and equipment for bench and field testing.
• As your technical knowledge develops, take increasing ownership of routine assembly and preparation activities.

Engineering Documentation & Configuration Control

• Maintain clear and practical documentation of our prototypes and their evolution.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials, component references, hardware specifications and relevant technical documentation. Keep track of prototype revisions and document what changed between configurations.
• Maintain simple build records connecting each prototype with its BOM, configuration, modifications, photos, test results and known issues.
• The objective is simple, another engineer should be able to understand what was built, how it was built and what changed without relying on knowledge held by one individual.

Testing & Engineering Knowledge Capture

• Support engineers during bench, subsystem and field testing.
• Prepare test equipment and test sheets, record configurations and conditions, and capture observations, failures and results.
• Organise test data, photos and videos so that results remain accessible and linked to the relevant prototype.
• Help turn engineering notes, test observations and design changes into structured records, with technical conclusions validated by the responsible engineer.

Procurement & Supply Chain Support

• Take ownership of the operational side of component procurement so engineers spend minimal time searching, ordering and following deliveries.
• Source standard components based on engineering requirements, identify potential suppliers and alternative sources, prepare and place approved orders, track shipments and follow up on delays or backorders.
• Receive components, verify deliveries and maintain appropriate purchasing and component records.

Parts, Stock & Tool Control

• Maintain visibility of components, consumables and raw materials.
• Know what is in stock, what has been ordered and what is missing for upcoming builds. Monitor critical consumables and frequently used components and anticipate replenishment requirements.
• Maintain shared tools and test equipment so that engineers have what they need when they need it.

Workshop & Equipment Operations

• Help maintain an organised, safe and efficient R&D environment.
• Keep assembly areas, soldering stations, tools and equipment operational and ready for use.
• Maintain 3D printers and other workshop equipment.
• Manage safe battery storage, charging, inspection and disposal records and support implementation of appropriate workshop safety procedures.
